looking at hints dropped on his twitter it would seem Dave Allen has been offered a fight against Dubois. Who do you have for this if it happens? Personally I like Allen, he seems a great guy on twitter - But i'm not sure this is the right move for him at the moment. He's got a fight lined up already for May 4th (against an eastern european plumber) I'd have thought getting some quick wins, staying active, and getting some momentum behind him would be the best option.
Think it depends what's on the table for him... If he think's he can win and the money is right then why not go for it? I can't see it really effecting his popularity losing to Dubois and he'll still be able to build up to British title level which is his aspiration. I've not really seen much of Dubois but what i think Allen is miles above the dross Frank is feeding him. Trying to make a name for him like AJ
Can’t see this happening...would need to be a 10/12 rounder to be worthwhile, Dubois has barely gone three... Prefer Allen vs Joyce, but again, Allen loses comfortably so a bad fight for him... Get some wins against journeymen and rematch Thomas...
Allen is a complete joke really. I don’t follow him closely but just had a browse of his latest Twitter posts and it appears he has let himself go completely out of shape again, after promising to stay in the gym and stay fit for a Lenroy Thomas rematch. Stick a fork in this guy and let him box plumbers on small hall shows.
I’d like to see it. Allen has no chance but it gives us a good indication as to where Dubois is at. Allen been in with Whyte and Ortiz, he’s not very dangerous. He’s tough and can last the rounds. I doubt Frank would make this so early though. If he did then hats off to him.
Allen just isn't really all that. Nice fella, good chin but has disappointed since the Whyte fight. He's arguably not even British level. The fact he has a good chin and might come to win would make it interesting and give DD the rounds he needs against someone who's been with some good lower level comp.
Hope this fight happens, will be a good step up and a good win for Dubois. Allen might be a nice guy but he doesn't take the boxing game seriously.
Id give allen a shout in this fight for sure, should it happen. We havnt seen dubois in with anyone yet and so we dont really know how good he is in a real fight. Allen has some good experience now in with legit seasoned hw. He also looked like hed really taken the thomas rematch serious and came in looking sharp and on point. The only thing there is thomas had also takennit serious and looked himself equally on it. Id love to see this fight but im not sure frank would take the risk
I think Allen sounds a little bit Tongue tied already. Im not sure what he sounded like a few years back but definitely sounds like he is already feeling the effects of his boxing career. Good fight for Dubois, Allen should give him some good rounds as he has a proven chin.
I thought this as well, but apparently his speech has been impaired after the really bad tongue injury he suffered against Ortiz. Supposedly that is what has led to his slurred speech, not that he is punch drunk (albeit his style of “boxing” is heading him that way).
I heard Allen say a couple of months ago that he really wants to fight DDD asap because he reckons he might have a chance now but in 2 or 3 years he will get wiped out
Perfect fight for Dubois. You have to assume Allen will take him rounds but I don't see that he has a real chance of beating Dubois. Will answer some questions for sure
This would be a good fight for Dubois. Allen has a good chin but is pretty poor. I'd like to see DD try and box Allen rather than try and smash him out early.
This is the type of opponent Dubois needs, someone who can take him a few rounds. I'm not sold on Dubois, but should have more than enough to beat Allen.
