Alright! Let's have it! How could Hopkins POSSIBLY beat Joe?

I don't think he can. But to be fair, different fighters you know. Who knows, he might pull off a miraculous performance and surprise everyone again. See Tito...See Tarver.....noone really thought he would win those, or at least dominate them like he did.

great fighters, though old, can still have a great performance left.

 

We've waited for that great performance for quite a bit...since Talor 1, in fact...it never came/

 

Calzaghe has many flaws in his style like looping, reaching etc. If Hopkins can catalogue those flaws and find ways to exploit them, he has a chance. Personally, I think he is too old.

 

Sure, but they were not even close to being as adaptable/versatile as Joe...were they!

Really, Joe has faster handspeed, faster footspeed, fantastic head & body movement, is a master of distance and timing, his equal as far as general ringcraft is concerned and has no physical disadvantages going in to this fight. There is a reason why Hopkins hasn't fought many genuine smws or lhws because he knows he'd get his ass-handed to him. Hell, I'd pick Kessler to K.O. Hopkins at this point.:bbb

 

How could Hopkins beat Joe? Get a time machine and set it to 2000.

Yeah...when Joe had not yet entered his prime and Hops was right at his peak...things had changed by 2001, it seems...because Hopkins was no longer interested...:good

 

Yeah, I think you are right. People forget that when Hopkins began his career he was a very mediocre figther. It only because of an extraordinary discipline in training and dedication to his profession that he has become a great boxer. He never had the kind of talent that Roy Jones and Joe Calzaghe were born with.

 

Hopkins is an amazing human being!

He turned his life around in a very rare way and he dedicated himself to the sport like few others before or since - he is a man of great mental strength and discipline! Not to mention how intelligent and tricky he is, both inside and outside the ring...

But now it looks like Joe is getting the better of him in negotiations...for revenge if nothing else.

 

BHOP is a tough and talented muthfukka but so is Joe and I'd give Joe the edge if a fight was made. It wouldnt be cut and dried either way like too many people try to claim.

But personally I think Joe has that bit extra that would get him a points win.

Joe would be busier and would land more in my opinion, and he got a great chin too.
