was watching the fight with **** audio so I turned down the volume. What I saw was a close fight. Trout pressing the offence with his jab and body shots, while canelo's effective counter uppercut was a beauty. alvarez' cleaner and more effective could have been the defining nod on the judges.
At some point in the fight Canelo knew he can dodge most of the attacks so he played smart and come back with HUGE shots while showing great defense; he made Trout look desperate. Jabbing in the air shouldn't win a fight what sport are you thinking about ?
youre a newbie but... deal:deal canelo won on my card, 114-113. if he didnt get that knock down i wouldve called it a tie. trout wasn't as effective as you guys think he was.
Alvarez' hard shots were few and far between. It's not like he was landing that uppercut at will. He landed it hard maybe six or seven times in that fight. While Trout was peppering him with shots all night long.
Here's the thing. When Trout looked dangerous because Canelo was on the ropes, he landed very little, Canelo actually got him with some solid shots. In the middle of the ring, Trout was landing, but it seemed a little like pitty pat and partially blocked. Canelo landed hard shots, not many, but in many rounds. Which got the judges thinking every round if they should give it to Trout's volume or Canelo's cleaner power punches. They went with Canelo.
