Hes actually never fought on the 2nd. Hes fought on the 1st, 3rd,4th and 5th He never had the 2nd of May booked to have it "taken away from him"
:rofl Now that's just silly. He always fights the Saturday of Cinco de Mayo weekend since coming out of "retirement". :smoke
I thought Martinez was a little overrated. I dont think GGG is overrated but we just dont know whats gonna happen when he fights somebody with power and will move around.
If Cotto does get past Canelo (who's really a MW himself - and moderately proven - if against other blown up JMWs- ie Angulo, Lara and Trout), then I'm actually OK with this fight. For me Cotto would be a very significant underdog, but it ain't quite the walkthrough that some might think, and even if it was, assuming Cotto fights Alvarez at MW, it is the fight that needs to be made. Personally I'm expecting Canelo to beat Cotto mainly due to his size advantage (though I believe Cotto to be the more skilled fighter) but whichever guy wins should fight GGG next.
yeah winner will fight GGG. I dont mind if its Cotto at all. i just think power and experience will be to much for Canelo whos kinda of slipped by his biggest wins (Torut,Lara)
HBO is under contract to keep Nelo in the ring at least 3 times a year. I think he will have a fight in between the Cotto scrap.
Damn son. The floyd apologists were swearing up and down that this fight wouldn't do more than 500k buys and that there was no way they'd take the date from Mayweather.
