I wish this fight was tomorrow so I can say I told you so. Yes Cotto lost Trout, but so did Canelo fock what the judges said. Mayweather only stund Cotto and didn't actually hurt. Canelo on the other hand barely won more than two rounds against Mayweather while Cotto gave Mayweather the most difficult fight he has seen since Castello.

The only way Canelo beats Cotto is through robbery via CJ ross type of scorecard and acqually I won't be surprised if that happens.

    Canelo is golden boy manufactured.

I can't believe I'm actually defending Floyd here, Cotto won maybe 4 rounds he landed a few significant shots but to say he gave him the stiffest test since Castillo is a stretch, Castillo it could be argued won that match, and Maidana IMO won more rounds than Cotto did, most of what Miguel did was ineffective. Also Cotto was hurt and I think Mayweather if he tried could have at least dropped him.

And if Canelo had fought Floyd the way he fought Lara, chasing him around the ring and constantly pressuring effective or not Canelo would have had far more success, but for some odd reason he was under the impression he could outbox Floyd in the center of the ring. In a rematch Canelo would most likely have more success with a different strategy.

    Very interesting.

I see cotto as having way more power and a better chin as well.

Canelo has been rocked once, Manny dropped Cotto twice and Margarito made him take 2 knees. Floyd rocked him, Torres rocked him, Judah badly rocked him, Clottey hurt him and he was wearing down pretty badly against Trout. So overwhelming evidence points to Miguel having a pretty bad chin. Not much evidence against Alvarez other than a young Canelo being caught flush and recovering quickly.

I'm sure Cotto's power is more damaging. Canelo has A level fighters like Lara running from him, even Mayweather respected Canelo's power more than Cotto's.

As far as chins, we have only seen a weight drained Canelo staggered once when he was like 19 or 20 years old. Cotto on the other hand has chicken danced, been KD, and KTFO a few times now.

Yes, but you comparing fighters with speed, skills and power (Zab, Torres, Manny, Floyd, Margarito) to Cotto's little brother, who staggered Canelo pretty good. Not saying Cotto is going to win, but Cotto has faced the better, tougher fighters. Also getting hit with bricks is no joke.

What happened 3-5 years ago doesn't tell the entire story. The real story is told by where each fighter is right now.

Look at their last 5 fights and you'll get a better idea as to where they are at.

As far as Canelo being hurt by Jose Cotto, it happens, but he kept his composure, fought through it and won by TKO.

Mayweather and Cotto were both hurt against light hitting Demarcus Corley, what do you say about that?

LOL, same thing, they kept their composure and won. All am saying, there's a difference, getting hit by Pac than Jose.
And where are they now? who knows. They both have questionable wins. This fight is about youth vs experience, nothing more nothing less. Skill wise I got Cotto slightly ahead, but Canelo is the stronger younger fighter.

    :patsch

The point son is that anyone can get rocked if hit perfect.

Demarcus Corley is a lighter hitter than Jose and yet seemed to hurt Miguel Cotto more than Canelo.

Since then Cotto has gone on to get rocked, dropped and KTFO, while Canelo has yet to be put on ***** street despite fighting higher caliber opposition than Cotto.

Come on Canelo hasn't faced better opposition than Cotto. Cotton fought three Hall of farmers already. Four if you count Zab. I like Canelo but come on...
