Floyd made him look like an amateur
    Lara outclassed him
Jose Cotto had him on Queeer street

Everyone will see that "Opie" is nothing more than a Red Headed punching Bag !!!

Reasonable opinion. Canelo is no monster and Cotto is no bum. This is a competitive match up.

Of course . the Lara fight was indeed a Robbery .

Canelo is currently one of the biggest draws in boxing and definitely the more exciting fighter .

Pretty much why he got the decision .

Nobody is winning a close fight against Canelo , Oscar wont allow it to happen .

No question Lara would embarrass and outclass Cotto the same exact way he did Canelo .

    Completely agree with you .

    Definitely .

Canelo is physically strong , the force of his jab alone made Trout completely bend over .

In all sports, preparation, conditioning and game plan all need to come together to have greater odds of victory. If you really follow the sport of boxing, read the interviews and just pay attention to what's going on in general, you would understand why and how Cotto lost to Trout. During that time, Cotto was attached to Pedro Diaz, the Cuban amateur boxing coach. He had Cotto fighting in a style unorthodox to Cotto's strengths and original style throughout his career. He had some success against Floyd, but that may be due more to Floyd slipping than the Cotto/Diaz relationship. Regardless of what was shown on 24/7, Diaz and Cotto did not mesh well. Cotto was still trying to find that fire of old and Diaz was not the trainer to bring it out of him. Nor was his old strength and conditioning coach Phil (Landman? can't recall) the proper fit. Cotto was coming into fights in shape, but not conditioned to last 12 hard rounds effectively. This rocky relationship, the training camp in Big Bear, the move from high altitude to sea level weeks before the fight were all BAD instructions by Diaz. It started to seem like Diaz was just in it for the payday and not really guiding Cotto as he should be.

Fast forward to the relationship with Roach, a proven trainer with no room for bull****, and a new proven strength and conditioning coach in Gavin brought Cotto to the level he should have been performing at since he had the falling out with this uncle. Hell, this should have happened about a dozen fights into his pro career. Had Cotto got with Roach early on, he would have gotten the big Oscar payday and passing of the torch, and would have been the face of boxing today.

    Another strong possibility .

Everyone talking about how powerful Canelo is , they seem to forget Miguel will also be the biggest puncher Canelo has ever faced himself .

Canelo has never had anyone ripp his body constantly with hard solid hooks . Hes never been in the ring with a body banger like Miguel , how will he react to the multiple bodyshots he will suffer ?

I hope we find out .

I'm leaning towards Canelo here. I might change my mind as the fight draws closer though.

i am a fan of canelo and even i wouldn't give him much credit for beating cotto, i feel cotto is highly overrated at this point in his career. cotto has a great resume and overall he will be remembered as having an above average career. now if cotto beats canelo not only would i be shocked but i would give him major credit for beating a young strong prime fighter that would give most fighters a run for their money.

Canelo reminds me in some ways to a young Cotto. Im rooting for Cotto but I think Canelo is going to win. Cotto's best years are behind him. All he has is experience. Canelo has youth and strength. But then again I also thought Sergio was going to destroy Cotto and we all saw what happenned, so we'll see.

Sergio was ripe for the taking, but Miguel is still a future hall of famer. It's a good win for Canelo if it happens, Miguel isn't the walking dead
