To stay active? WTF? So you are saying that there is no one else at LMW that Canelo can fight to stay "active"? :-(

That is why Canelo is getting alot of hate on the forum and his cheerleaders support this crap! He is a champ at 154lbs and should fight people from his division. Then people have the nerve to claim or start threads that Canelo is more known or better than Chavez Jr (the supposed other Mexican Hypejob)? Chavez Jr has faced people from his own damn division and already faced the best from his division while Canelo, a champion, is facing 140lbs fighters! Maidana doesn't belong at WW either. Maidana should of stayed at 140lbs. He gave a good fight against Soto-Karass but he won't do **** against other 147lbs, he was better off at 140lbs since he didn't carry his power with him to 147lbs. Much less will Maidana carry it to 154lbs where Saul "The 140lbs Killer" Alvarez will have once again all the advantages. :-(

I hope its BS, but if true...**** GBP and who ever carries this fight be it HBO or Showtime! I don't care if Canelo faces the #50 ranked LMW but just face a true LMW!!!!!

Molina, Leija and Hernandez definitely moved up in weight to fight him early on in his career but Oscar was moved along much more quickly than Canelo. He fought Chavez and Whitaker before his 30th fight FFS.

Because there are legitimate JMWs for him to "tune-up" against rather than cherry picking smaller guys.

Poor Maidana, Only in his 2nd fight @ 147, he has improved and probably would like to stay in that weight but If he does Move up to 154, I will feel sorry for him, Canelo is been fed by smaller fighters again. :-(

doubt thi will happen, won't even watch if it does though. there's about 20 more deserving fighters in his actual weight class that would jump at the opportunity to get that canelo $$

Maidana is in the running, but he's not in 1st place. If all goes according to the so called plan, December 8th is going to be an incredible and historic night of boxing.

He wanted to fight Cotto in december but guess who back out on that one? Look canelo wants to fight either cotto or mayweather. Lara and Vanes are already schedule to face each other. Trout will be fighting Cotto. And whats with Canelo only fight ww or jww? Didnt cintron beat Angulo at jmm? Isnt Mosley (yes very past his prime) is the former junior middleweight champion?

How about Canelo actually proves it inside the ring that he belongs with guys like Mayweather and Cotto? This guy has been calling out the big names for 2 straight years yet he's made absolutely zero strides in the level of competition he's faced since he's gotten on his soapbox.

I don't know how true it is, but I predicted Maidana to be his next opponent.

I don't doubt this one bit, cause it's a very likely scenario. Look at this career path so far...it's the perfect opponent.

Time to step it up a little. He has got what it takes, time to believe in him.

If I'm Golden Boy, I'm headlining a PPV with him late November against either Carlos Molina or Cornelius Bundrage, likely the unification with K9.
