Sadly this is 80% facts. We'll see if he at least tries to change with a trainer change. He needs it badly. I can't think of another fighter this good who just wont put his hands up its ridiculous
Actually I think Imam did a damn good job the other day, he showed real grit and didn't fold when I thought he would, and fought back after being hurt and really put it on Ramirez for a round or two, I kind of became a fan the other night.... a little.
I still like him as a fighter but it saddens me to see such an excellent talent be ruined. His trainer never learned the lessons from the Granada's fight. He assumed that it was a matter of stamina when the fact was that he was getting hit too much and that's because he takes pictures and is always there for the return. I don't know what he is gonna do at 147 with the same trainer except get knocked out sooner.
Hes acting like moving up in weight will fix his technical issues... Delusional. At 147 he could be healthier, i wont argue with that but he lacks fundamentals. Fights wholly of off reflexes and a flashy style.
And the trainer said that a couple of years ago it was easy for Imam to make 140. But he was more drained for the Granados fight than he was for Ramirez.
Imam was just yet ANOTHER Jeff Lacy, Seth Mitchell, Andre Berto, Devon Alexander, James Kirkland, Seth Mitchell, Malik Scott, Eddie Chambers, Mike Jones, Lamont Peterson, Anthony Peterson, Andre Dirrell, Julian Williams, Kendall Holt, Tony Harrison, Jesse Hart, Antoine Douglas, Tevin Farmer, Erickson Lubin, Just one of many. Quantity but lack the quality, You hype your fighters too much when they are really average at best.
