Actually, Warren is on record, right after Khan's first ppv which resulted in a boycott on these very boards, as saying the only way he could trump up the money Khan was demanding was ppv.

The truth is Khan is young, gifted and.............................BRITISH!!! Mr Johnny Foreigner is green eyed with envy, hence the juvenile snide remaks.

No he isn't, Salita is terrible!! Make a poll asking people who's a more dangerous opponent out of Maidana and Salita and I'll be shocked if even 15% say Salita!!

Salita is very talented, and if he is an option for Khan, I would pick him over Maidana...provided Khan wins of course. Khan still needs to hone his skills, and fighting a very talented, but moderate puncher like Salita on U.S television, would be a wise move. I doubt any U.S networks would pick up a Khan - Maidana fight, but I'm sure Showtime or HBO would show a Khan - Salita fight.

I think Khan will fight Hatton anyway if he beats Kotelnik. But nobody could hate on Khan for fighting a top boxer like Salita on U.S soil for his first defence. To put it in perspective Calzaghe fought Sobot in his first defence, while Pacquaio fought Mira in his.

However, all the above talk is dependent on Khan beating Kotelnik, who is a very good boxer indeed. Very difficult fight for Khan. Let's hope he has improved.

Why would HBO show a Khan-Salita fight but not a Khan-Maidana fight?

Maidana's the one who's last fight was on HBO. Salita has only fought on a HBO PPV undercard (Calzaghe-RJJ). HBO don't give a **** about Salita.

Salita isn't very talented. He has average skills and is NOT wrorld class.

You make a very good case as to why fighting Salita is logical over Maidana, but leave out the key factor - that Maidana is a banger!!!

Of course I don't think anyone would have a problem with Khan passing over Maidana this time...but I think we all agree that he has to eventually go in with a puncher to prove himself an elite fighter, and I'm not sure Warren will do that after the Prescott disaster!!

I hope I'm wrong but I remain sceptical!!!

That's why Khan needs to hone his skills, before he can take on the like of Maidana or Prescott. He can't afford to get ko'd again. If he beats Kotelnik I think his next few fights will pan out like this -

Salita (Get's the mandatory out of the way)
Hatton (Huge British fight. If Khan can win he will be a major British ppv attraction)
Juan Manuel Marquez, Bradley, Diaz (Big fight in the U.S)
Prescott (A rematch that Khan and the fans want)
And Maybe a couple of token match-ups in between

I'm not saying Khan will even beat any of the above, but if he does, that is how I see his short term career going. In economic times like these, I think Sky will put big pressure on Frank Warren to match Khan in big fights.

    That's my opinion anyway.

look we might not have to worry about this anyway dont forget kotelniks qualities and what hasnt been seen is kahn goin 12 rounds i watched him against barrera and even though he didnt have to work that hard (since barrera couldnt see) he kept trying to shake his arms struggling to keep them up i reckon when he gets to the eigth his arms will start dropping and kotelnik will become more dominant kotelnik is like alot of ukranian boxers very skilled a bit dull but wont make silly mistakes and if he does win remember that even a shot morales can still give one hell of a fight
