It's one thing to make a meal of a lesser fighter: Ali-Jones, Hatton-Thaxton, Lewis-Bruno, Louis-Pastor etc. are all examples of this. It's another thing to get knocked down by a non-puncher who doesn't even connect cleanly on your chin. His education continues, but remember the adage: you can't train a chin. :good
I'm not a fan of him by any means but Delahoya got knocked down in 1 or 2 of his first fights right? and he turned out to have a pretty good beard AND NO I'm not comparing the 2 at all
Getting knocked down and getting hurt by a featherfisted boxer is a completely different thing. In my opinion, getting knocked down, but not getting hurt has almost no effect on someone's chin rating, but getting visibly hurt effects it greatly whether they fall to the canvas or not.
he got tagged....he got up....he stopped the guy....jeez, 12th fight, comonwealth title..pretty steep ****in learning curve....i think the kid is gonna be one of these exciting fighters who can dominate but can be hurt.....he can only improve, but i hope he works on his style rather than try and become a defensive master cos of his chin......khan is destined for some really exciting fights.....
it was only his 12th fight?? then why the hell does he get so much hype? if he wants people to think he is still learning then maybe he should't be calling out oscar de la hoya or floyd mayweather.
Take your favourite boxer and look at his 12th fight and compare it to that of Khan. Limond is actually a pretty good opponent. Hopefully though this fight will calm the hype down a bit.
contrary to the above, i was impressed with his power and wily had a tough chin. he practically beheaded the guy! i've never seen someone that keen in a long time. for one second though i thought he was doing the judah dance compalining to the ref while doing the ***** street shuffle. i would compare him to jnr jones in terms of speed power and serious lack of chin
lets see.... miguel cotto faught john brown in his 12th, a guy who has previously faced jesus chavez, angel manfredy, shane mosley, robbie peden and steve forbes. oscar de la hoya faught for a world title in his 12th fight stopping an undefeated jimmy bredahl.
Firstly being only his 12th fight doesnt mean he still hasnt got a glass chin, it could be his 50th fight but a chin is a chin (who was really surprised by the knockdown really anyway). Secondly, give the guy credit he was horribly shaken but came back to really expose Limmond for the average fighter he is showing atleast he has some heart and that in the future he can get up of the canvas to win. However, ultimately its only a matter of time before he proves to be the second coming of Naz (albeit less flashy which is why he's the Golden boy Naz wasnt) and he'll prove to be a pretty good level boxer but elite...NEVER. Its too bad Warren will protect him so much that that the hype and gravy train will continue for a good while yet.
lets deal with facts tho, you don't know whether he'l NEVER go onto be elite, you just think you do He MIGHT NEVER go onto to be elite, or he MIGHT go onto be elite.
