Amir Khan If he came around 10 years ago

    How would King Khan be doing if he was boxing in the lightweigt/light welter division of the early to mid noughties

    I can see him being a nobody. There were too many class acts around (on world stage and domestically) during the early to mid stages of the last decade (Mayweather, Castillo, Johnson, Judah, Tszyu, Corales, Freitas, hatton, Casamayor, witter and a few more)

    I reckon he would struggle to be a european champion at light welter

    how would wlad be doing if he fought in the 90's? how would lewis have done in the 70's? how would mayweather have done in the 80's?

    point is, this is now and amir khan is one of the best light welterweights around.

    140 is pretty good nowadays though so he has still done well.

    If Witter was ranked no.2 by Ring Magazine, it shows the depth of talent back then....

    He may win a strap at light welter but at lightweight there was a lot of depth.

    Kostya Tszyu unified a few of the main belts. Zab Judah was close to his peak.

    I can see witter giving khan fits and Hatton destroying him thus keeping him out of the picture.

    Witter really was underatted as a boxer. its 50-50 between him and khan. I havent seen khan show enough yet to say that he could with stand hattons non stop aggression

    Yes he would be able to beat the likes of randall bailey and some of the others jokingly mentioned

    Bailey would have a punchers chance.

    99% of fighters with a punchers chance go on to lose.

    One of the hardest hitters in the divisions history against a guy with a fairly weak chin.

    I'd say it's closer than that even now.

    I was not joking about Bailey either.

    Muangsurin would stop Khan. Obviously, that's more like thirty years ago but still...

    Yep i agree with this. I mean today's guys at 140 are good but look at them names and all of them have a distinct quality about them. I think all them names he'd struggle to beat really.
