I actually believe that if Khan keeps plugging away he will eventually win people back around.
The way he spoke pre Prescott,he probably deserved most of the stick as he was a pampered, extremely flawed fighter. Without his talk and boasts he would've still been massive as he was never in a boring fight.
Since then tho,he's stuck in,changed his style(more conservative but effective)and is deservingly a major name in the sport.
He's really won my respect no matter what happens in the future(getting ko'd)

It was an interview..... it's been on the general forum at some point.

Along the lines of ''Why do this now, why not do it when the fight is bigger''

To be fair I'd agree with that, Maidana is very high risk, hardly anybody has heard of him, and Sky can't market him as anything either. He is a fearsome banger, but vulnerable himself against the right opposition I'd say - but arm punching isn't going to knock him over.

I like his attitude though, lost a close one in Germany, then straight into a risky fight against Ortiz.

He actually said that they would ditch the belt if they had to face Maidana?

i don't know really, shouldent world champs take all comers,if they think they are good enough:think.if he don't think he is good enough to be a world champ just yet, maybe he should of gone the brit/euro route,or maybe the prescott route,to win back support,i would of given him more kudos if he did something like that:thumbsup

“We’ve always tried to play down the hype surrounding Amir and when people were talking about world titles, I was saying he had to learn,” Warren said. “The Prescott fight was just a bad match, I shouldn’t have made it, but the trainer wanted it and the connections wanted it. It was a big mistake."

    :lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl

    Nice one, Frank.

He didn't actually state that they would vacate the title, no - but it wasn't the most subtle hint judging by his expression.

Yeah, on reflection if you are the champion, you ought to be better than anybody else, so should be willing to fight whoever is lined up.

I agree though that he isn't good enough just yet, he said he wasn't ready for Marquez, so hay-ho, we will move up and take the most suitable champion style-wise.

He should have gone the British and Euro route, that's true - but too many fighters get clogged in the system and never get there, because it's always fight this one, then that one, oh, that young kid is quite good will have to take him as well, rather than getting on with it and moving up.

So it's a double edged sword in that respect.

Bradley would stop Khan (response to Jeff M)

Ummm......reason Khan gets so much stick is because of things like this (I'm paraphrasing)

'he's a big puncher' Warren on Salita in his Sun column the other week.

Khan can't hold a shot and until he faces a big puncher and beats him convincingly he isn't amongst the best in the division. His WBA belt means **** all

I'm not particularly big on Bradley - not as much as other people are, but agree that Khan would be stopped.

He isn't as durable as even the slightly faded Junior Witter that Bradley put on his ass and forced to hold on, and generally discouraged a bit.

Edner Cherry was caught with a nice snappy shot and went down against Bradley.

Bradley can box, he is fairly fast, but he can also be rough and force the fight. He has already shown a damn good chin against Holt and seems multi-faceted. Not great at anything, but decent in a few areas.

Khan will only fight someone with major deficiancies. salita: padded (and to those who have seen him fight know how **** he is) and then Morales (?) or whoever he fights next, I bet it won't be a puncher.
