I'm giving the kid one more chance. Too many loud mouths sounding off on here, not even opinions, it's just abuse for the hell of it. I'll wait to see how he does against his next 2-3 opponents, if it's good quality exciting title fights and he keeps that jaw tucked in he'll do ok. If it's more Kotelnik standard forget PPV, he'll sink. Roach sees the potential in him yet you guys seem to know better. Good for you.
I doubt it - Depends how long it takes for him to get KTFO again. If it happens soon, he'll never be a PPV king in the U.S. If he can pull a string of impressive wins, we'll see.
i agree wholeheartedly. and the **** excuses people bring up to anyone who doubt's khan (eg apparent racism) is bull ****. people dont like khan for these reasons: He can't trade for ****, otherwise his papier mache face will cave in. He fights in a manner of throwing bull**** flurries with no accuracy or power (which impress ******s), and then he runs around the ring for the rest of the round, in a fraustrating manner similar to mayweather (except mayweather could at least hit, and take one for that matter). Thirdly he is managed by Frank 'the world's biggest ****' Warren, therefore any british boxing fan with a modicum of sense or boxing knowledge will not buy into his **** (the kotelnik ppv was actually called the man who would be king, how pretentious is that for an event against arguably the worst of all current boxing champions). Also he is not so amiable as his clean image would portray, he is a reckless driver and twice has been involved in collisions (and although not boxing related his bigheadedness have seriously dissillusioned many former fans). Oh yeah and how exactly is khan going to become ppv king when he Khant (get it) sell out his show's in england (several of his last fights people have been given free entry to fill up the venue's, and of course his unwarranted ppv events have less punters than a disease riddled crackwhore. there are more reasons to hate him and the ridiculous concept of him somehow scaling the ppv ladder. but i cant be bothered. overall **** AMIR KHUNT.
Khan was more exciting when he was being put on his ass by the likes of Gomez, because he tried to bang his way out of trouble - obviously OK for someone like Julian Jackson, but when you don't have much behind your shots it's obviously pretty stupid - but great for casual fans because they know someone is getting banjoed. That was part of the reason everyone used to like seeing Bruno fight.... someone was getting nailed at some stage! I don't think he will become a major PPV draw. For him to beat decent fighters, he has to box in the manner he did against Kotelnik, which was hardly captivating viewing, even after a few beers. Sober, it would have been painful. As Rico has said, as soon as he faces a puncher again, even a crude slugger like Maidana, it's lights out. As for him beating Ricky Hatton, please......
Khan at 140 is looking better as I feel 140 is his natural weight. Kotelnik caught Khan with his best shots but they had no efffect, surely Kotelnik punches harder than Gomez and Limond who put Khan down with light shots. Maybe Khan was weight drained at 135 and now fighting at 140 he will hold punches a bit better, signs are better for his chin. Make no mistake 'IF' Khan's chin has improved enough to take good shots and he can stay on his feet, not only we might have a PPV King but also P4P King in the near future. Khan's speed and movement would trouble any fighter around his weight which includes 'Mayweather Jr' and 'Pacman'. I am not saying Khan would beat anyone but his speed would give any fighter problems. Roach is trying his best to tune Khan into a good counter puncher using his speed and movement, it will take time but I truly believe in 2 more years you will start seeing the best of Khan.
no never. In order to be a ppv king you need to have one of the following. -good looks to go with great skills -be either American or Mexican. Mexican american is the preference. Then u get both audiences. -Be a white American boxer with good skills. (Pavlik could be if he had better opposition and skills) -Be an American with an attitude and the excitement in the ring to back it up. Sadly it takes at LEAST one of those.
