He doesn't need out support; he's a star and he's got it made. We should support more promissing prospects or fighters who are little known. He doesn't give a damn about the fans anyway, but just cashes in on them ruthlessly. Good luck to him, though.

How do you come to the conclusion that he does not care about the fans..? Did'nt he build a public boxing gym..

I see nothing but pure bitterness in this thread, Amir Khan won a Olympic silver medal and captured the nations imagination at a time when boxing was down and out in the UK. He was made the pin up boy of british boxing, and he ****ing rode that title. It is not his fault the rest of the sports prospects at the time where bland and boring...

This is a sport, money will be made...

It's not a sport. Gymnastics is a sport. Professional boxing is a business. Khan built a gym because he wanted to give something back, but also because he knew that the publicity and good-will would end up making his bank manager a very happy man.

Let's ignore him and talk about someone else; plenty of good British prospects out there.

so,khan is a god for building a gym out of his own money,(my arse),i would bet my life, sorry my wife, a lot of it was some kind of grant or other, how the **** is he going to make a profit or get his money back,7hundred grand don't leave you a lot of change out of a million,**** i could be wrong.

the only people who beleive khan is the next best thing are mostly young asians who mostly know ****all about boxing, and his family.
his younger brother (harroon)is just as big headed as his big brother,he says he is better khan was at his age.
oh and my grandmas sisters cousins antys brother used to teach him,and said most people thought he was a arrogant prat as well.

khan is a decent domestic fighter,he has got to fight thaxton or murry to prove he is better, but IMO he **** scared of em

Amir Khan has a glass jaw, i loved it when he got knocked out and i cant wait for it to happen again, he is and will never be any where near world class, Amir Khan say's he is above British level but has ducked Thaxton, Murray, the first lightweight with a punch he fought made a full of him,

Anyone betting on a feather weight with a 10% ko record for his next fight??

Sure, but not our supportings. He's got plentiful cohorts of teenage girls going crazy for him on his fansite, if he needs an ego boost.

When was the last time Khan came here on ESB to say: "Thank you for your support, lads!", the way Willie did, for example? Never! Why should we care? He charged 15 quid for fans to watch him fight instead.

Khan won't be building a gym from his own money - and the banks won't lend him any!

His nuthuggers may be gullible but I know a few people involved in similar community based projects and there is ample funding available to help get such projects off the ground. At worst case scenario he would have got matched funding and the running costs (which iron bull claims are £400K a year) paid.

If he has paid for this out of his own pocket not only does he have a dodgy chin but is also an idiot.

A5if you are on my ignore list so I please stop responding to my posts.
