Khan would KO Thaxton. Thaxton would be open and make it a fight, and not just survive in there like St Clair did. Atleast Thaxton-Khan would have been exciting to watch.
10 more? He just dominated a legitimate top 20 guy. I doubt there are 10 more guys who would fight him who aren't already titleists who are better than St. Clair. I can see 3 or 4 more, but 10 is crazy.
I actually thought it turned out to be a good test for Khan. Okay he shut St Clair out but he went 12 rounds, paced himself well & looked composed. I've been vocal with my criticism of his opponents in the past but no complaints with this one. Khan picked his punches well, showing a pretty good variety & I think performances like that can be built on & will carry him to the next level.
For someone who consistently defends JC's level of opposition over the years I think you're being a touch harsh.
But didnt he knock out some guy called "Mad Mick". Hahaha another **** Aussie fighter. But seriously I wouldnt put Khan anywhere near a legit champ.....yet.
I wasn't but considering Khan's age I'd say him facing St Clair is no worse than JC facing Tocker Pudwill at his respective age.
For someone who dislikes Calzaghe you have a pretty bizarre obsession with the guy. I wonder, how many times did you write the word "Calzaghe" yesterday? Maybe I'll go look up your posts and count them. You seem to think all I care about is Joe C. You're completely ****ing wrong mate. I don't defend his level of opposition, I merely give credit where credit is due. You have tried to argue about his opponents in other threads lately and ended up looking totally stupid when faced with posters here who actually know what they are talking about, then you avoid answering their posts because you can't. I have tried being nice to you and having a decent level of conversation, accepting your opinions, but now you are testing my patience with your snidy ****ing comments. If you don't like Calzaghe, don't ****ing watch him. Or maybe just sit here all day talking about him and typing his name 300 times this afternoon. I really couldn't give a **** anymore because you have proved you are not worth my time. Regarding St Clair, again, he was useless, just as I knew he would be. End of story.
Khan is absolutely ready to take on anyone. Main thing is: Juan Diaz is a near top10 P4P-er who will be a danger to Khan even 5 years from now so time doesn't really matter if Amir can bring out the best of him now. His chin won't get better. And after yesterday's performance it's hard to see what is Khan has left to do as a contender. They say you need a puncher's, some ranked and of course a 12 rounder experience to get ready for a world title. At the age of 21, Amir's just got it all. -Knocked out a few C level fighters until 2007 to gain pro experience -Knocked out B level fighters in 2007 and some ranked contenders -His chin has really been tested in the Limond fight and he finished in style after barely got up -Knocked out former world title challenger Earl last December in style -shut out former world champion and VERY LEGITIMATE, prime contender in St. Clair. Perfect game plan. Amazing speed. Very good defense. Very good stamina. Very intelligent fight. Not one big mistake for 12 rounds against a pretty active opponent who couldn't really outpunch Amir because of Khan's very good jab. Compare this fight to the Limond fight. Major improvement and St. Clair wouldn't had a better chance if his KO percentage would've been perfect - Khan was THAT focused. I think Khan is ready for any world champion, and if he can't pass the great Baby Bull right now (it's a really hard fight for anyone, and Diaz would be the favorite) he'll have troubles with him later too. No shame losing to a truly great fighter but Khan himself is looking to be one. The Amir of yesterday looked to be a very experienced fighter, I was really surprised that his focus was that good from start to the end. That was something new, something more mature. St. Claire brought that out of him that and he passed his last test as a contender perfectly. And if he fails to get a title? For the love of God/The Prophet, he's only 21, but for a 21 year-old, he's looks to be a world beater. I don't necessarily say that he has to rush but I'd say that he has left very little to do as a contender. No B/C level fighter could give him more experience and every A level fighter/contender will be a danger to his position where he is right now. That's the same thing I’ve said in the case of Povetkin. Why should any of them take on another dangerous fighter if he could take on the dangerous world champion in his very next (or in 2-3) fight?
You seem to be in the minority with regards to my posts but thats your opinion & you're entitled to it. At least be accurate with your criticism though, I'd say it's pretty rare that I don't respond to a post that it directed at me & I'd like you to find some examples to the contrary. More bizarre than my supposed obsession with Calzaghe is your anger. I have seen you consistently defend Calzaghe yet you are ready to criticise Amir for a shut out performance over a decent but not great world operator. Again drawing comparisons with my secret obsession. Just relax, I'm all for debate & a bit of banter, you seem like a decent poster & if it has seemed I am getting at you I apologise. I do it to TFFP as well but he doesn't seem to take exception to it the way you do. No hard feelings?
