Aparently Khan doesnt do well against "brawlers"(maidana) if you can get on the inside and rough him up he gets sloppy...i think Ortiz would get this one.
Because it was Maidana who is tough as nails. Doesn't matter how better Ortiz's footwork is he aint still walking thru Amir's punches and he has no chance in the middle of the ring. And if you watch that ortiz-Berto fight again most of the time Berto just sat on the ropes and let Ortiz come in without making him pay. There we're some brutal exchanges but berto didn't keep it up. Berto's output is not comparable to Khan either and has no jab whatsoever.
Maidana is tough as nails, but, not very skilled. Yet, he landed wild looping punches on Khan, cleanly, multiple times. Ortiz will land sharper punches sooner, and he is at least as powerful as Maidana. He may not have to try to walk through Khan's punches all night, it only takes one punch to change a fight. Khan is chinny and Ortiz has that type of power. I see a determined Ortiz stopping Khan, if he gets him hurt.
That triangle theory **** never actually work bro. Guess what Zab is better all around than Maidana too and look what happened he didn't land anything. Slow asss Margarito landed 200+ punches on Pac but Mosley couldn't? Like I said doesn't matter how better Ortiz is overall than Maidana. Truth is toughness is the most important asset to beat Khan because you ain't beating him boxing you have to push him to the ropes and risk eating combos after combos.
I don't think Khan's chin would up over 12 rounds with Ortiz. Right now Ortiz weighs about 15+ pounds in the ring right now.
In the center of the ring Khan would probably dominate Ortiz, but once Victor keeps mounting that pressure if Khan hasnt gassed out or stopped Victor by the 7th or 8th, Victor starts turning the tide. I think he beats Maidana in every department except the toughness, but if he survived some scares from Berto I think he could survive Khan. It would be bloody, but a classic. When Floyd and Manny are gone, these guys along with Nonito, Gamboa, Canelo, and Chocolatito are going to keep boxing exciting for us.
I got Ortiz.. he is too strong for most of the WW's not named Mayweather or Pacman... BUT this is a must see fight for 2012.. whether Ortiz beats Mayweather (which he probably won't)... or not.... this fight is a must see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But first, we need to see Khan vs Bradley... BRadley needs to step up and stop acting like a Diva... Timina Berta needs to think about her legacy...
"Triangle theory ****"? I said Khan took multiple slow, wide looping, clean punches that a fighter with a semblance of defensive head movement would avoid. Ortiz is a faster more accurate puncher than Maidana, and he hits just as hard. It stands to reason, he would land some good shots. How much has Khan's defense improved? I like Khan as well. But, I think Ortiz wins by KO, if he were to apply relentless pressure on Khan. And he can do this. Zab is primarily a defensive counter puncher, at this stage of his career. He and Ortiz are in no way comparable, at this point. Ortiz will press Khan. He will not approach the fight the way Judah did. He will make Khan the counter puncher.
You just said it again. maidana landing looping punches doesn't mean Ortiz would because Ortiz doesn't have maidana's heart and style. Zab was faster more accurate than Maidana and yet he didn't land **** on Khan, I thought Khan has no semblance of head movement? He would not walk thru Khan's punches like maidana did to land those bombs. He would get jabbed to death and eat a combination and he'd crumble just like he did against peterson and maidana. Don't let the Berto fight fool you. Berto is garbage.
