No, I don't think Khan will win a legitimate world title at lightweight.

fighting the top contenders to earn the shot instead of fighting sub 50 fighters till he is given a shot becuase how many wins he has.

holyfield is getting a rather iffy shot against sultan because he is has not proved he is a top ranked contender.same with ray leonard and oscar de la hoya.

i hope amir does get some big fights becuase he is tall incredibly fast can hit hard and is a british medelist he is a great sports hero for kids who dont know the sport.people say it's hype and yeah your right but if he was not promoted by warren would he be in the same boat:think im sure he would be called hyped and protected even if warren didnt give him a contract.

I was more referring to the classification of a world champion (i.e. Hatton) over a titlist such as Junior Witter or Clinton Woods

woods and witter have as much right as hatton to call themselves world champs.

ppl forget how many bums hatton has fought, i like the guy but his resume with a bit of good analysis is shocking, old zoo apart, if compared to some atg like say barerra.

    completely immaterial!

regardless who Hatton fought before he had the title shot, Tzszu was the UNDISPUTED 140 champ after defeating WBA "titlist" Mitchell and IBF "titlist" Judah, to become the lineal champion at 140. Hatton went onto soundly defeat Kostya. Just out of curiosity which of Kostya's fights before he fought Hatton led you to beleive he was shot?

    KO3 Mitchell
    KO6 Leija
    UD Tackie
    KO2 Judah.
    yeah definetly shot :huh

There is a massive difference between titlist and undisputed/lineal champion

when did i say zoo was shot. I said that Zoo was old and was/is ricky's best win. If zoo was so prime why has he not fought again since.

Btw the fights of kostya you mentioned was over 3 years. (2001-2004). He used to fight that many times in one year in his PRIME.

i am not denying Hatton his world champ status, I am saying thay woods an witter have equal right to call themselves world champs as well.

Put is this way, Khan has basically zero chance of ever becoming a true top 10 P4Per.

Anyone can become a World Champion these days, especially ones getting the Khan treatment.

Yes , Amir is young and talented enough to holdone of the many alphabetic titles that are around today. Amir is intelligent , dedicated, talented, and has great conections. He showed immense power and guts in his win over Limond. He will grab a belt and is on corse to do so, I say in 2009 he will be in high contention for world honours. It will be because of a massive derailment against a lesser man if he doesn't even so he still could getto where he needs to be maybee a year later. Lennox had a similar path.. He grabbed the domestic titles in often unimpressive fashion but improved through slow progress.. His name speaks for itself, You always learn more in fights where you get beaten or struggle.. Limond was the perfect experience.

I voted no (unless its a very carefully selected fight organised by Warren)

He showed heart against Limond but he also showed he has a very suspect chin and lets not forget that Limond is a joiner by day and is not a full time fighter.

Khan will be protected from anyone with any kind of power for the foreseeable future (Lawton is another light puncher). Khan needs to lose the 'im a celebrity' image and get back to basics. He needs more time in the gym and less time doing interviews claiming he is ready to beat Mayweather etc etc (I know, not even his division)
