khan's put himself in a different playing field after the barrera and paulie fights. even without prescott losing it's unlikely khan will fight prescott again when he can fight bigger names for more money and prestige if he wins.

Fighting prescott would be a bad move. Prescott ain't done nothing since he beat Khan. If Khan beats him, he won't get much credit because he he got outboxed by Mitchell. Its a high risk/low reward fight. Don't make sense.

Spot on mate , folks will tell you Marquez is still a decent fighter and he probably is but Khan is a world Champion too and so much bigger , younger and fresher it would be a massacre. Almost Barrera like I would say.

I've complained a lot about Khan avoiding dangerous guys , especially as it seems he doesnt need to anymore. Katsidis would be ok as would Murray but the other two are either way too small or way too old ( or both )

There's a poll running around and over 60% of people think Marquez will beat Khan, and 50% think Marquez will knock Khan out.

What's embarassing about Khan fighting a guy like that?

Why would you be embarrased for someone you don't know.
    I don't get it.

Simply, ppl are biased. Marquez is past his prime, it's no longer the guy who brought hell to Pacquiao. The fight Khan/Marquez would be very similar to Khan/Barrera.

What fights can we cite as examples of Marquez being past his prime? When did we see this?

Ignorance. People hate him for his arrogance and glass jaw, race nonwithstanding.

Marquez is definitely not just "a name" now...before being dominated by floyd in a weight class that was 2 levels above his natural weight(which he should definitely not hang his head low about,) he was the only man to knockout Casamayor and he gave a prime juan diaz a lesson in resiliency....I think his wonderful counterpunching could make things extremely interesting between him and Khan..the only problems i see for Marquez is his inactivity (out almost a year?) his age, and Khan's height advantage. But to think Khan is just going to walk all over dinamita is silly.....

The fact that Khan is only considering fights against smaller fighters (sometimes much smaller fighters) says a lot about his team's confidence in his ability to compete at 140.

How do you know which fights he (or his team) are 'considering' fights against? Oh, did you think OP actually knows what he's talking about?

Prescott's a non entity now - he's had a couple of defeats and isn't even in contention.

I think a Marquez would be a close and fantastic fight. Good matchmaking as far as I'm concerned. Potential to spearhead Khan's legacy
