The fact is Floyd is the best.. he is sooo good and young (Calzaghe is 36). Thats why people want him to fight, because he has potential to be the best and beat the best. I have no problem with Floyd retiring and he does (as you say) have a good record, esp at 130. I'm sure you can see my point of view here.

 

That's cause no one stays in that shitty weight class that long.

That Calzaghe's resume SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

 

Calzaghe Beat Eubank but from what I know Eubank came in as a standby on 2 weeks notice, but he still did what he had to do in there against a tough campaigner in Eubanks

Calzaghe Beat Sakio Bika, although people would not give him any credit for this win, Bika's aggressive style made it hard to fight against and again Calzaghe adjusted during mid fight and won

Calzaghe Beat Jeff Lacy - He used his boxing ability and kept spinning Lacy and Lacy could not find an answer as he was too slow and did not have a boxing brain. All braun no brains.

Calzaghe Beat Kessler - He could have been taken out in this one as Kessler was getting through on Calzaghe but I must say Calzaghe can take a punch and it would be hard for anyone to stop Calzaghe over a 12 round fight.
I cant see Calzaghe giving him a rematch

Calzaghe Beat Hopkins - Hopkins was the only boxer I know with the Style to beat Calzaghe, it's just a shame he ran out of steam in that fight.

Calzaghe Beat Jones - I got this one wrong and I thought Jones could do it but having gone back and watched some of Jones last 3 bouts I could see that Jones was not ever going to deal with that work rate but if it was a Roy Jones of Old with more legs under him I could see that the 1st and 2nd round of the fight would been somewhat different. I think we may have been looking at an early stoppage and a Jones win over Calzaghe but he does not have the timing down anymore.

Calzaghe vs Dawson - This fights needs to happen?
Why?
Because Dawson is a young Lion who poses a considerable threat.
The question is can Dawson handle that type of work rate and pressure,
well to put it bluntly, no, but I can see Dawson catching Calzaghe with a few combinations but I cant see him winning a decision as he would tire after about 8 rounds of mauling by Calzaghe.

I did not like Calzaghe before and I still dont really like him but I respect his ability to adapt during his fights and he wins which is the most important thing.

Cobbler what do you expect posters to do, produce an original copy of the terms and conditions of agreement ready for Joe to sign. Dawson's promoter has candidly stated on most major news networks that Dawson is ready to go to Cardiff to fight Joe, if Joe wants it - he just has to say yes. You will not get anything better then that at this time.

Calzaghe, Woods and Diaconu have more impressive wins at LHW, off the top of my head.

Although I'd only be confident of Calzaghe actually beating Adamek.
