Andre Berto "Blast Pacquiao" comment!!!

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Colpolite, Nov 21, 2010.

  1. I can call out Pacquiao, too. That's not gonna get me praise. Berto needs to do something before he calls out the P4P king. Start with kicking Maidana/Khan/Bradley/Alexander's ass.

Any idiot can run his mouth, and Berto have done zero to deserve a shot at Pac. But if this fight actually happends, Berto would leave the ring on a stretcher! So he better stay beating cans and enjoy his time in the spotlight little longer, instead of getting his ass exposed in such a brutal way!

I agree. Berto got dropped by Rivera's left (when he switched to southpaw) uppercut. Pac ate uppercuts from Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito and wasn't even wobbled.

Pac's left uppercut changed the momentum in both the Cotto and Margarito fights.

Berto is the other major title holder at 147. He is also undefeated, with 20 KO's in his last 26 fights. And he just had a spectacular stoppage against Quintana, after climbing off the mat, in fact.

Is Pac going to defend his WBO belt by bringing a faded JMM up to 147 or bringing a faded Mosely down to 147? Will he go down to 140 and fight winner of Alexander/Bradley...or will he bring the winner up to 147?

Berto is the best choice...and he has officially, asked for this opportunity. He's already at 147. This fight should be easy to make. :good

Yes Pac ate shots from Margarito, and they hurt him too. Besides, it's the shots the fighters don't see that get them out of there (unless the guy throwing the punch is a prime Mike Tyson) and Berto is fast and has good power. It would be interesting for as long as it lasted.

  5. I'll bet you a grand that if Berto fights Pac, Pac will KO/TKO him in under 6. Any other result, you earn a G.

Why would cleaning out the 140 lb division qualify him to fight another title holder, in his own division? How did Margarito get to jump the line then?

Berto just wants a huge payday even if it means he knows he's going to get the beating of a lifetime. That money can help many of his relatives in Haiti.

  8. Margarito's resume: Cotto, Cintron, Martinez, Clottey, Mosley, Williams, etc..

    Berto's resume: . . .

I am not convinced Berto could beat Pacman.

I don't gamble on this sh\t man. I enjoy the sport for it what it is...entertainment. I did not say Berto would win (see previous posts). I said it would be "interesting for as long as it lasted". Evidently, you see greater challenges for Pac among the aged, slower, or smaller fighters. :huh

  13. After Pac drops Berto with a left hand in the first round, Berto's only concern will be how he's gonna make it to the final bell.

Why not seek to unify the titles then? Pac's gone this far. :think

  15. I apologize. Wasn't trying to be a dick or assert my position over yours. I'm just saying that Pac, Floyd, and now Martinez, operate a whole new level. There's a gap, and then there's Mosley, Cotto, and whoever can come down to welterweight. I think Old Man Mosley sparks out Berto/Alexander/Bradley, so as much as it sucks, Mosley is the next best fight after Floyd. This is from a financial/fan friendly point of view. It's not Pac's fault that there's no one else.
