Who has Berto fought to prove that he can take Zab's heat for the 1st 5 rounds? Zab would KO him within 5.
true. thats why i wanna see him fight someone good. cause he seems good in all assets, but i wanna see if hes that good against quality opponents or is he just pretending. but i think he is that good, but im not for sure
He definitly has the offensive tools to beat anyone but I wonder about his chin and how he may react to getting rocked by a good finisher. Zab has the best left uppercut in the business.
Berto is going to go bust, no chance he beats Judah or anyone of that caliber at any point ever. Berto has already shown signs of leakage and self doubt against the C and D class competition he's fought. I think the Roy Jones sound effects and flashy combinations got in people's heads. This kid is not the goods. Time will tell. Quote me on that.
I pick Berto but Judah's a very live underdog. Berto's chin and defense is somewhat suspect and he is too offensive minded sometimes which would give Judah a shot at landing that straight left.
True. He looks very good against these bums. But I wanna see if he's that good or is it these bums just make him look good. He has good skills overall. Good speed, defense, offense, footwork is decent, stamina is decent. But I wanna see if all that goes out the window when he faces some comp. I think being put in the position that he's in now will really force him to train hard over the next year and try to craft his skills.
No place generally, but I can tell you there came a point when Berto moved up from F class competition and his power diminished significantly. I can remember the moment clearly, though not specifically, when Berto let off with one of his blistering combos and for the first time his opponent just mugged back and returned fire. Berto had a defeated reaction, like the wind had been sucked out of him. Berto is very uneasy with the fact that his power doesn't show as much as he's moved up in competition. I couldn't tell if this scared him or frustrated him, but it definately has discouraged him. And I've seen little traces of it ever since, each and every time he's fought. He seems to run out of ideas after he throws a good combination. I also think he's too cerebral. He thinks too much, and goes in and out of the zone constantly. He's a zone fighter and he has trouble staying locked in. Oh, and then there's the questions about his chin...
Ok. I'll be looking for that in some of his fights. But all the problems you listed can be fixed in training, its up to Berto and his team to do so. I'm not counting him out, and I think he'll craft his skills over the next year.
Perhaps, but if it's a lack of heart or true commitment beneath it all there's no fixing that. We shall see.
Zab Judah takes Berto deep and drounds him. (Berto needs to get out of the shallow water's and stop fighting guppies) Shot or not, Judah is still a Bigger fish.
