The funny thing is, we criticize guys like Groves for fighting "bums" like Glen Johnson, but someone mentions a Dirrell fight, and suddenly "Groves will get easily dealt with, he's not on his level"

so, why were you moaning about the Johnson fight

**** this place confuses me sometimes

fair point ,everyone slates fighters for taking fights ,when they "potentially" could get a step up m,the same people are saying ti will be a forgone conclusion .i cant say im a fan of the way Groives has behaved recently ,but i think that fight could be a good acid test "should it " got ahead

We don't but Dirrell is a world level fighter and Groves hasn't really shown to me that he will be able to move into that world level scene yet. I may be wrong of course but I can't see Groves being able to keep up with the likes of Dirrell,, nationality has nothing to do with it either

Yep. Fight average fighters and they get criticism. Take a step up and it's stupid matchmaking because they have no chance:nut

    It's got me thinking actually.

Which fighters are serious candidates for Dirrell?

    Froch
    Cleverly
    Groves
    DeGale
    Bellew

    That's about it.

Froch and Bellew are both Sky fighters, neither of whom are particularly fond of Allegedly.... and Dirrell has already ''fought'' Froch and it was an awful fight.

DeGale is now on C5, recently split with Allegedly and you'd have to have reservations about his ability to deal with even an inactive Dirrell anyway.

Cleverly.... ticks most boxes but the step up in class would be large.

Groves.... perhaps. Has a little bit of name value in America having fought there a couple of times, he's sparred with Dirrell too.

Can't really see much coming of this potential appearance on the undercard. Dirrell isn't the most enthralling to watch at the best of times, against Froch he was brutal.

I could understand the logic of Allegedly perhaps lining up a deal to have brought Katsidis over five years ago, but not this joke.

  7. i though dirrel beat froch , just his 'diving' cost him the fight

    I agree.

If he wanted to he could stop him in the middle rounds.

Perhaps Showtime are going to be showing Burns vs Walsh, Groves vs Johnson and Dirrell vs Somebody.

Not so sure about that as Dirrell is no banger and Cleverly can take a show.
