Damn, I just watched round 3 of that fight. Dirrell basically humiliated Hanshaw in that round. Should I watch the rest of it? :hey
The fight is going to be a good fight. Guys belitting either man is comical. Froch proved to me that he can fight, and that there is a method to his madness. Dirrell is a guy who lays in the weeds, and waits for his quarry to make a mistake, and jump on them. AD can't go in thinking he'll be able to catch Froch with 1 punch, and end it even though imo he can...AD just has to box, and not get caught up in Froch's offensive aggression.
**** people are acting like Hanshaw exposed him or something. He got stopped in 5 rounds. The same Hanshaw that fought a close fight with Roy Jones jr. Hanshaw came out swinging for the fences. Dirrell was surprised by it. Once it settled down it was total outclassing. Froch doesnt fight like Hanshaw anyway. He is extremely judicial with how many punches he throws. As I said before. Froch is too stupid to know that he is not Archie Moore or Roy Jones jr. This what makes him hella dangerous but it also makes him easy to hit since he's not a great counter puncher.
I agree Froch is a good fighter, a proven champion, but stylistically Dirrell is the worst guy he could have fought. Ward, Kessler, and Abraham will stand right in front of you. They'll trade. Dirrell is doing laps around the ring popping a laser jab. If it was a different guy I'd back froch, but I dont see him winning. The only thing Dirrell has that Froch could exploit is the Ali like tendancy to lower his guard while slipping punches. If he could keep one glove up and one across his body like Mayweather when backing up his only real weakness in my eyes would be solved.
Danny, you are my man and 50,000 and all but while we may both think that we know Dirrell's tendencies, we don't know how he will respond under pressure over seas. I got Dirrell by ko, but bruh, Froch can fight lol! The Pascal fight showed me Froch could fight. I've seen it before...a guy throwing a punch he thinks he can land on the supposed inferior fighter and boom, the guy we rooted for crumbles lol... I do have Dirrel by ko before 7.
It is hard to predict. Dirrell is talented, yet his mental makeup is questionable because he's not been tested in that department like he will be travelling to the UK. So is his durability, and his stamina. Froch is a strange one, I could watch him beat Pascal, then watch Pascal beat Diaconu, and still wonder how the **** this guy even won against Pascal. Infact, I'd have a hard time convincing myself to pick Froch to beat Pascal in a rematch, even though Froch beat him 8-4. That's how unimpressive he looks, yet he's effective...somehow.
Cool. Just watched all of it, btw. Dominating performance it was, he just manhandled Hanshaw after round 3. But imo there was no knockdown in the 1st round (ref was correct), and no knockdown in the 4th as well (ref wrong).
Dirrell is cocky and confident as hell. Fighters who are seem to not get as flustered under pressure as more laid back guys like Jermaine Taylor. Just something I've noticed.
I don't think Froch won 8-4, their fight was that close. Froch was worried, but PAscal can blame his loss on inactivity in the middle rounds.
I personally did score it 8-4 for Froch, but maybe 7-5 is more accurate having only viewed it live. Point is, Froch looks like turd but has got the job done twice now.
There's no real basis to this. Every one is different. Look at Pac-Man for instance. I'm excited for this from a betting perspective, if Froch is a big favourite i'll have to drop a few quid on dirrell. If he boxes Froch and manages to not get knocked out, I don't see why he can't win a decision!
Pacquiao has a different demeanor in the ring. In the ring he's a savage. As Roach says, he is almost sadistic while fighting. Yeah I think I'll be dropping some loot on Dirrell aswell.
