Andre Ward dirty tactics work only in US as his countrymen judges and refs allowed him to do so. Definitely such dirty dont work in a nuetral venue or on his opponent backyard.
i dislike him but he is an ATG. Is he a first tier ATG like Hagler, Duran etc.? Nope. But yes, a second tier ATG.
This sport started in Sparta where cheating is only punished for getting caught and cheating, getting away with it, and bragging about it later was encouraged. Sure, got made illegal for a thousand years, so for a thousand years criminals were the exclusive participants. Then the English revived it, but why? It wasn't the English in total of course, it was elite anti-religious English who glorified boxing. At no point did we ever use extra eyes to catch what the third man didn't see. We have had cameras for a long time now and still no instant replay that means anything to refs. Because it's always been a part of the culture bro. Cheat but don't get caught doing it came from the Spartan influence and never left. Don't have sex before a fight came from Roman influence and never left either. The English added sparring None of youse know who Allus is, who Klietomachos is, or who Fuller is, but, you know boxing's a dirty sport, you know some dudes believe a cum robs them of energy, and you know it's a good idea to spar in preparation for fights. So you ain't need to worry about it just stop trying to fix what is not broken.
Yep agree with this. He was a great fighter no doubt but he was dirty and always got the rub of the green.
There’s a lot of stupid videos on YouTube. Like I keep seeing one popping up in my related videos with the clickbait title “Ryan Garcia-Devin Haney: The darkest fight in boxing history”. Yeah, in boxing’s long history, THAT is the darkest. Whether or not Ward is an ATG depends on your criteria for a ATG, but he was definitely dirty. Most fighters have their share of illegal tricks they get away with, but Ward was dirtier than the average.
