Ah, I see. Murdoch is ranked #6 at SMW. But the fight is supposed to be at LHW !

My bad, SMW but #6 is still #6 and Ward is moving up from SMW.

 

Monroe was ranked #3 by WBA at the time of the fight and we don't even know at what weight Ward will fight next or if It'll be Murdock or not. Alexander Brand was the last rumoured name and he's ranked by WBC, not WBA.

 

Supposedly. But who have we heard that from? Not Roc Nation or Andre Ward? Was it Fat Dan who reported it? He has been wrong before.

 

Obviously it won't be Murdock and the last I read Ward was moving up. I haven't read or heard anything about Brand or even mentioned Brands name or rank and quite frankly could care less. My point is that both fighters were ranked in the top ten and if a top ten fighter is deemed unworthy to fight Ward then that's saying a lot about Wards skill level.

 

Thurman, Broner and Wilder and others all turned down Roc Nation offers. Cotto and Ward are the only 2 guys that accepted. I'm sure Roc Nation wants Ward as their poster boy African American fighter. Cotto got a 3 fight deal for $15 million a fight. Ward probably got locked into a longer fight deal but he is probably getting less per fight than Cotto.

 

Maybe now he can call out ggg and ask him to move up 168lbs and demand a 50/50 split and call him chicken when he declines! The guy is a marketing genius!!

But It'll be a tune up fight, right? Leaving out the Haymon fighters and Kovalev/Pascal since they're fighting each other, there's no competitive fight for Ward out there. Does that mean they won't let him fight anyone for the next 6 months or so?

If Rigo never fights again, I'd feel bad for him even though he knows his style isn't attracting anyone..

Yall problem is that yall don't care about people you dislike for whatever dumb reason.. You would feel bad if this same thing happened to a GGG fight or Pac and Algeri fight.. If this happened with Floyd and Berto, yall wouldn't care..

I think it was a great deal for Cotto who is at the tail end of his career, plus has many more options than Ward.
Cotto has the upcoming Canelo fight and can try for a Mayweather rematch, or many other fights from 154 to 160.
Ward doesn't have the same options as Cotto, plus Ward is a special boxer and like Mayweather needs special promotion. It helped for Mayweather to have his own promotion company so he wouldn't be like Rigo, dissed by a **** poor promoter like Arum. Ward needs the same type of foundation which he will definitely not receive under Roc Nation, Top Rank or definitely not the Marshmallow only K2 club.
Ward's only chance to have a solid foundation is either Haymon or Mayweather Promotions. :yep

 

And Cotto was on a hot streak since he had just beat Martinez and became the 160 champ so yes he demanded a lot of money and they gave it to him. Ward should have just finished out his Gossen contract.
