    What makes you say that?

I would say Bute is easily faster, has better boxing skills and is a bigger puncher than Dawson at 168.

You can replace Dawson with Dirrell in that comparison too.

I agree but Ward should come down to 160 to fight Martinez. Then he will see what weight drained means.
Dawson didn't know what it was for Adamek to fight him being weight drained. Now he knows. Let Ward find out...

    Silly thread.

Ward will never move down. He makes people come to him.

Sergio needs to fight Golovkin if he beats Jr next week.

Ward and Dirrell need to fight.

Ward can easily make 160. 168 is pushing it for him. At 175 he will be too small.

I think with the current field these are the guys that would trouble him the most.

    Golovkin
    Chavez Jr.
    Dirrell

    I will explain why.
Golovkin is a great pressure fighter who has the best balance I have ever seen. Roy nailed it on the head. His balance is always in the middle. Never overshoots and if he lands on Ward well he will be shook. The problem as with anyone facing Ward. Will they land flush on him.

Chavez Jr. Just like Golovkin. A great pressure fighter. He is big and has a solid chin so i feel he can pressure Ward just like Bika did. Except Jr. is better in every department.

Dirrell. Although I feel only a pressure fighter can beat Ward. A switch hitter like Dirrell could cause him problems. However Dirrells heart is a big question mark for me. I feel when Ward starts pressing he will fold.

Other than these guys at 168 I dont feel anyone else has a shot. I know Demetrius Andrade is at 154 but if he could move to 168 I can see him troubling Ward.

Well at 160 he could make alot of great fights. I think he is too big for 160 though. Maybe he can meet some of them at 164 to make it even but I bet he drags them to 168.

  8. Chavez Jr. would pose no threat. None.

it's only his size advantage @ 160 that gives him the edge. he will get demolished @ 168. i think Matinez stops him as well.

I dont think anyone out there can challenge him.

Sergio would be way too small. Sergio is really a LWM fighting at MW

I agree with this. I think he has a lot more options and a more clear path staying at 168.

    Then how did Bika?

Ward needs to be roughed up and face a fighter with a big punch to be bothered. Chavez Jr. would be right on his chest and although Ward is great there Jr. has the better chin and better power. Also you realize Jr. is a kid who can barely make 160. if he is already coming in at 180 on fight night I dont think the weight gain will affect him much.

Lol, no not happening. Bute will be lucky if he doesn't get knocked out again. Froch is the second best SMW in the world, Bute is a B-level fighter crusher.

  13. i'd bet good money that Ward would get the best of Jr. on the inside. dude is a chameleon in the ring. if that doesn't work he can simply outbox him to a comfortable UD.

Yes that would be best if he chose to box from the outside. However from the inside I really dont think Ward can beat Jr. Dawson had not inside game and that has always been his weakness. I expected Ward to tax his ass in there.

I wonder who is bigger? Ward or Jr.?

its time for him to fight hopkins. right now he's the p4p no.2. If he beats hopkins I'll put him over floyd. Pass the torch to him, he deserves it more than anyone
