If you saw what a slow, plodding unskilled guy like Fury did to a 210 lb man like Cunningham, imagine what a just as big, infinitely more skilled, and experienced man like Wlad can do to a much smaller Ward. His only chance is to fight a HW that is around 220, where he can bulk up to 200 and the weight won't be such a problem. I do think a fight with the top cruisers would be a great challenge. A win over a very good, 6"4 southpaw like Hernandez would be one of the better wins in recent memory, IMO.
He can't. He is just not big enough. He would get hit by Wlad's laserbeam-like jab - and I guess that would already be enough. No necessity to hit the target with a huge right hand...
Wardkke is craving relevancy in the sport of boxing. A sport where nobody gives one flying **** about him. Andre Wardkke makes Wlad look like Prince Naseem Hamed in the entertainment stakes.
Don't misunderstand. Wlad would splatter any version of Andre Ward, and anyone who thinks otherwise is absurdly mistaken. As for your analysis of the Ward vs Froch fight, I stand by my original comment. What the **** are you smoking? Froch landed few meaningful shots all night. Hell even he admitted that Ward was either too close or too far away to inflict damage. Ward, on the other hand, had no difficulty landing on Froch.
Ward is an irrelevance. He may currently be the most skilled SMW on the planet but you don't become a legend by talking and not fighting. His fans seem to think he's done it all already but boxing does not work like that.
When Wlad is 43.. Ward will be 35.... I think a 35 year old 210 Pound Ward can easily beat a 43 year old Wlad.. but by than Wlad would have been knocked out countless times and people will say it's meaningless
hard to say. he couldn't be hit at all. Possible maybe if he fought the perfect fight. He could beat Vlad more than Vitali, but either case is doubtful. Too small obviously
I must have listened to a totally different interview. He said he thinks he could beat a Klit, but qualified this statement by saying this mentality is that of a fighter, as a fighter you need to believe you can beat anyone. Then he said multiple times it would have to be the right heavyweight, the right match up. It's not like he was flashing c-notes and spitting mad rhymes while massaging his ego. It was an honest well balanced answer.
I can see Ward doing well up to Cruiserweight in the long term. Despite his small build, I wholly believe he will grow into at least a moderate to large sized LHW in the future. Given how thin the talent pool tends to be at CW, I have no problem believing a 180 to 192 pound version of Ward would trounce most of the guys who cut 10 to 20 pounds to compete at CW.
