If Joshua and Ward fight then Joshua is a chicken who takes on retired 168'ers instead of Deontay Wilder.
If Joshua and Ward dont fight Joshua is a chicken who is scared to face Ward and it proves hes duckin Wilder.

Maybe wait a bit longer for the drugs to wear off before posting. Ward has no ranking at heavyweight and wouldn't be sanctioned.

Ortiz? Makes sense if Wilder doesn’t happen, as in some ways it backs Wilder into a corner, providing the fight goes as I expect it to go.

I will not be surprised if it is Andre Ward.

If they want to fight in the US that makes sense, less so in the UK?

    Ward isn't fighting AJ.
AJ is 6'6 and 245 pounds lean, a beast of a puncher and has proven himself one of the best heavyweights in the world, and is rated #1 by most people, and #2 by a few.
Ward spent most of his career at 168 and had a few fights at 175. He's never even faced a cruiserweight in a pro fight.
He's not going to step out of retirement to get killed by Joshua.

Complete random guess but the 'wilw wildcard' opponent could be John Jones from the UFC. Looking for a major payday and Connor managed to get a big boxing fight so could be the random one besides the names already mentioned.

It certainly makes sense in the U.S, but I don’t think the UK fans will warm to a Whyte rematch, so they’ll simply have to sell it as the mandatory, tick box fight. Obviously it will still do good numbers, and it will be a good fight, but long term, Ortiz makes sense.

I’m going on the assumption that team Joshua want the Wilder fight. I’d look at it like a chess move. Truth be told, How many mouthwatering fights are out there for Joshua for April? Wilder (if he wins). Miller, and Ortiz. Usyk, but that one will wait.

I was thinking a UFC fighter. But surely not. Would Eddie really do that after congratulating Mayweather, but also being passive aggressive about what he was doing to his legacy.

    Would you, Really!

I’m not interested in anything he or she has got to say at all and I’m surprised that anyone else is.

Some posters can’t help but show their bitterness but every now and then they have a valid point or say something new and interesting but not this one.

In fact, if he or she ever said anything remotely sensible or free from hatred in the past then recent posts have betrayed their ignorance and irrelevance which invalidates their opinion in any sensible discussion.

As the saying goes, ‘Even a broken clock is right twice a day’ but that old adage can’t be applied here either.

Yeah I do not think its something Eddie would entertain for April. But a September fight in Vegas live on DAZN? Could be a big event and launch AJ.

Beating Ward does nothing for Joshua. Im not even sure if it would do many PPV buys.

Joshua and Hearn needs opponents that can keep the momentum going and keep the seats in the stadiums. It 100% won't be Andre Ward.

Joshua could fight the local taxi driver and the British fans would still fill Wembley, they would buy just as much coke and still sing Sweet Caroline like Joshua was fighting a real life Isaac Frost. Eddie Hearn knows the market better than anyone and knows he can shovel dog **** down their throats and they'll only ask for second helpings.
