Ward trying to talk his way into a payday vs AJ or Jake when he's completely irrelevant and nobody wants to watch his boring ass stink out a PPV with his fouling and hugging

GGG sold more tickets in Ward's home state vs a nobody than Ward did in his hometown in his prime vs a top contender and the tickets for GGG vs nobody were more expensive

Crazy delusional takes in this thread lmao. Ward isn't beating any elite world class fighter that he can't physically bully with his illegal roughouse tactics. Ward couldn't beat Kovalev without shenanigans. He isn't beating a SUPER-HEAVYWEIGHT Olympic Gold Medalist, former unified world HEAVYWEIGHT champion who completely dwarfs him. Ward would get badly hurt in that one. You people are completely insane for reading anything into that circus fight.

I wish it had happened. Ward would have been carried out on a stretcher.

This is disrespectful.. and its kind of ashame other people in the fight game even let him talk this non-sense.

Just because Ward in his smugness SAYS he could beat him… doesn’t mean he could do anything…. Like I always say when these kind of convos come up… why didn’t he go get the pay day of his life?

Bivol and Beterbiev could too right? Again, why not go get the bag?

I’m not sure Ward would beat the John Ruiz that Roy did… let alone AJ…

Yeah exactly. Ward wouldn't be the A-side there. He wouldn't be able to even try to rig something up in the states. AJ has always been WAY more popular than he has. The only buzz he ever had was due to being an Olympic gold medalist but people quickly lost interest because no one wants to see a boring billygoat foul his way to a boring 12 round decision every time.

Yeah, he's completely delusional. Remember when he asked an interviewer how many tickets did they think a rematch between Froch and him would do at Wembley Stadium if Froch vs Groves II sold 80,000? :risas3:

Retiring relatively young after winning two fights in controversial fashion, then talking as if you would beat several active fighters who you could have easily fought just makes you a stupid *******.

I don’t know how anyone can see this play out and be cool with it.

He could have fought GGG, Canelo, Bivol, Beterbiev, Gvozdyk, even AJ if he ACTUALLY wanted to… he preferred retiring and enjoying saying he’d win fantasy match ups from guys in his own era….

    Disingenuous slime ball stuff.

The guy is talking about his contemporaries like he’s Ray Leonard seeing Floyd reign several decades later…

You can see how he thinks he could win. Obviously Joshua is one of the least skilled cash cows the sport has seen in many decades. You can see how Ward feels tempted to give it a shot. That said, too much disparity in weight.

Like someone said already.. he probably wouldn't beat the John Ruiz that RJJR beat.. let alone AJ. RJJR had real power even at heavyweight to keep Ruiz honest.

Ward can't punch and can't clinch with AJ. He gets ragdolled. Even a vastly bigger and better Usyk dropped 4 rounds to AJ each fight.

Ward isn't a mover. AJ wouldn't need to keep cutting off the ring. And Paul's "Circling" was running away. You need to know what yo are seeing in the ring.

He doesn't need to circle the ring like Paul, joshua is mechanical enough for Ward to evade with basic head movement, pivots and stepping back, Paul doesn't do anything better than Ward

Ward isn't a mover, that's the whole point.

Ward is a weird one for me, I am a fan of his mindsent and sheer ablity to WIN, When it comes to being a winner he is very very good, but im not a fan of watching him fight at all, the only fight of his i have ever enjoyed is watching him school carl froch and only because that version of carl froch was an arrogant dickhead, he still is today but in a weird way he's grown on me a little and he makes me laugh sometimes. That said back on topic i think jake paul is far more dureable and a bigger puncher than ward, AJ really is just too big and too strong, That fight would quickly turn into the last round or so of this past weekend fight where AJ simply starts hunting him down and everyshot no matter where it lands be it on the gloves or not starts becoming painfull and ward eventualy get's pummeled or ko'd. Jake paul is a much bigger puncher, ward has nothing absoutly nothing to keep AJ of him. AJ did have a little respect for jakes power he would have zero respect for wards and thus would apply even more pressure cutting of the ring than he did vs jake. Ward would not be able to get away.
