He has a shorter reach than Foster but otherwise he's not a good deal smaller.

It doesn't matter if it was his 10th fight. He was not a teenager, he was 24 at the time. According to Foster himself, he had known and fought Jones when they were in the Air Force. No excuses, not buying it.

Henry Hank fought dozens of times at middleweight before fighting at LHW. What was his KO percentage at LHW? It was garbage. Foster never beat a single decent LHW puncher in his career.

Yeah....he is. I don't really know how much more I can break it down. Watch them fight. Use your eyes. That should help.

:lol:Which means? They boxed together in the amateurs. 3 round fights. Jones had outgrown Foster by the time of their fight, and was well more seasoned. Foster had been boxing pro a year and a half. 9 fights. Jones had been boxing over 4 years pro. 23 fights.

You're going to blow it off because they had met in the amateurs back in Bob's Air Force days? You've been slowly deteriorating throughout this argument, I hope you realise that.

*yawn* KO%? You have a very minimal understanding of the sport if that's what you base your opinions surrounding power on. Everyone knows Hank was a big puncher, regardless of weight. He had a lot of losses toward the end of his career bring those averages down. Oh yeah, and Foster was the only man in his nearly 100 fight career to stop him.

Foster was a beast with a beauty of a straight right hand. Ward, as much as a fan I am, was eating telegraphed right hands vs AA. Foster is a top 3 lhw and considered by some as the best. If perhaps Watd would neutralize it, but that was heavyweight power in that right. I think Foster drops him once or twice, struggles on the inside, but puts Ward in survival mode. Foster UD15 Ward

Not to mention Foster's right wasn't just about the power he had great accuracy and shot placement. One of the greatest one-two's ever. He had some unbelievable knockouts. One of the most violent knockout artists ever. A past his prime Foster busted up Ali's face with his jab. Had a helluva skull cracking jab too.

Don't forget the left hook. The KO's over Tiger and Quarry are some of the most brutal ever seen.

If you were forced to bet, would you go with Foster or Spinks at their respective peaks?

If absolutely forced to bet I'd flip a coin and let fate decide. That's how unsure of that matchup I am. Gone back and forth over the years.

He is taller and longer, but not bigger. Ward is about the same size as Doug Jones...

Name another "elite" fighter that got his ass whipped like Foster did. Go ahead, I can wait. Your claims of Jones having "outgrown" Foster are preposterous. Foster had no chin, you might at as well admit it.

No, you have a very limited understanding of the sport if you think you can put Foster over Ward on the basis of him beating up a bunch of bums and nobodies. Foster's resume is garbage. Foster continued to fight bums with negative records after winning the title. He never beat a legit puncher at LHW and that's a fact. If Roy Jones fought Bob Foster's LHW opposition, he would be undefeated and have a higher KO % than Foster.

I hope your not implying that Carl Froch and Allan Green are in the same league as Bob Foster.

Ward mugs him on the inside. Wards can dominate from various distances, Foster from one.
