JR was only able to beat Ruiz with movement and behind lightning fast combos and refusal to allow Ruiz to throw a punch inside.

Wards entire game is dependent upon his ability to stave off his opponents inside attack using feints and footwork.

Ruiz would destroy Ward at his own game.

Ward would have abetter chance at beating Wilder than he would Ruiz. atschatschatsch

He was too busy attending court houses.

 

Ward can move too and has ring IQ and better fundamentals than Jones. You don't need crazy movement to stifle Ruiz. A bloated James Toney made him look like an amateur. So would Ward.

 

Ward isn't RJJ fast. Ruiz gives him the huggy bear treatment and wins.

Ruiz is too big and too strong. Toney is up there with Duran in gansterocity.

 

Ruiz was horrible to watch but he was tough. Not many people had an easy time with him. I think Andre could beat him, but how would the added weight have affected him? He wouldn't have made it look as easy as Roy, because he didn't have Roy's speed or power.

It's also not a given that Sergey would have brutalised Ruiz. I think that's a tough match up for him stylistically.
