Ward was a master boxer in 2012 and would have been the deserved favourite - but that was a long time ago in boxing.
3 self described tune up fights as recent activity is one of the reasons this fight is so split - we simply don't know if 2012 Ward is going to appear to beat Kov or is top level competition that is ready, willing and able to push Ward too much.

But probably won't get caught by most of them. If you are expecting Ward to box exactly as Isaac did, then yeah, he's not going to last the distance. But Ward is much, much better than Chilemba so Krusher will need to work a lot harder for his openings. Like I say, the Chilemba fight really doesn't give any insight into how Ward will fare. If you watch the fight closely you will see Isaac fought at range and eventually Kovalev timed him. But Ward is not as predictable. He will box just out of range at times and other times smother Krusher's work. I'm not saying Kovalev cannot solve the equation - anyone who sees this fight as a forgone conclusion (either way) by definition does not understand boxing - but I will stick to my guns in saying the Chilemba fight will be no help to Krusher's in his preparation for fighting Ward, despite this being one of the main reasons they boxed.

Ward fighting dirty is the least of Kovalevs problems tbh he is so one dimensional, unless he can work at coming in at angles and working close without getting held he doesnt have a snowballs chance in hell of winning....he walks straight lines pretty much all the time and has limited shot selection, relying on basic combinations which can work with most, but not with a fighter of Andres quality!

That'd be a fair point if Ward didn't win 24 of the 24 rounds he's fought this year at LHW, albeit one was a jobber.
Kovalev will push Ward but ward will push kov much harder and much further. Kovalev has great power yes but he's still doesn't have one punch power, and hitting ward flush is extremely difficult. There's many other nuances, but that's neither here nor there. I appreciate a legit response.

Good to see you back...thought I would not hear from You for 10 Day's...We are Truly Blessed...Number 1...Kovalev is much Stronger than Ward...2..Ward's tune up fights have been Terrible...last 3 Fights have been with Fighters ranked 62....38...and 28 in the Boxing Rankings...which is not a great Preparation for a fighter like Kovalev....3....Ward has no hope of TKOing Kovalev He is just not Powerful enough Kovalev on the other hand has a chance of Finishing Ward early....

That stat is impressiive until we see what he was up against - such one sided stats indicate a lack of competiveness from the outset. Call me a cynic but if Ward had beaten 3 ranked contenders, even if he had struggled, I would be far more impressed.

He can box, he can punch with either hand, and he has a good jab. Now give me 3 reasons on why he CAN'T win.
