Froch & Kessler are still the only good names on his resume. Which says a lot of these two men if that's enough to make him P4P #2.

You said they were "known in Montreal but not in other provinces". Nice. :rofl

There are more people in QC who know Stevenson than people in Cali who know Ward. :good

Yeah, AB is so hot right now... one world class boxing card after another. :blood

    Toronto doesn't care about Stevenson?

    Sorry

    1. Those two are only known in MONTREAL.

No other provinces give a **** about them

That was what I stated. 2 different trains of thought. Not linked in any way shape or form. You should learn to fking read. That is why they were not on the same line.

More people in the U.S know of Ward than Canada knows of those two. You can't even prove that more people in QC knows about those two than Cali - Ward.

Anyways, you're completely wrong about boxing being the 2nd most popular sport. You are completely ignorant and you don't live here.

Canadian football/Amongst other winter sports are far ahead of boxing there. Good job, you're completely clueless.

    1 Newspaper column = Popularity?

Jesus, you're completely reaching here kid.

The Toronto Star (Something I read everyday alongside the METRO) post about the most ******ed/random crap known to man. How I know?

I READ IT EVERYDAY going down the TTC Line :rofl

Run? I don't run from anything, kid.

I said all I needed to say, you guys sort it out in that thread.

I'm not getting into a circular argument with you GGG-Fanatics. I've done that too much already.

Still digging yourself a hole there?

RDS consistently gets much higher # of views & comments on Bute / Pascal / Stevenson articles than any of the Alouettes articles. Boxing is #2 in QC and that's what I said, didn't talk about other provinces. ESPN refers to QC as one of boxing's hotbeds.

"No provinces other than QC" would have been the proper form. Now that I know you can't write for ****, I'll leave it alone.

So I said Stevenson was "popular" in TO? GTFOH, you said he was "unknown" and I just showed you evidence of the contrary.

Have fun riding the TTC :!:

If you had made a point i'd have made a response. You're dumbass ramblings about 'relevance' and how pay cheques prove Wards popularity even though he couldn't draw flies to **** aren't worth responding to.

    Idiot.

Im sure HBO actually enjoy having people tune in to a fight.

"No other provinces" is completely fine, sorry I overestimated your abilities in making a rational assessment of what I said. Are your literary skills that inept? I don't need to put it in proper form because we're all typing in point form anyways, well at least 90% of the people here do. But ofc, you're still reaching and still trying to deviate away from my main points, none of which was retorted.

Back when the Alouettes were a decent team (2008-2010), they were on par with the Bombers in terms of popularity, so you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Even in the final game of the Alouettes in the 2013 season, the ratings skyrocketed and even trumped Canadian boxing cards. You really need to get your facts straight.

Comparing 2013 articles between the two = Desperation. It's kind of like comparing the 2013 Cleveland Cavaliers articles to the LeBron James Cavaliers articles back when the Cavs were one of the most talked about teams. Completely different stratosphere.

Posting 1 measley column equates to him being well known? The Star posts articles about randoms all the time, does this mean they are all now known?

    :rofl

Toronto knows nothing about Stevenson or Pascal. You know it, and I know it.

    Desperation?

Post your link to this big Alouettes ratings figure you're talking about, then post your link to ratings for a major Bute/Pascal boxing card. I can post RDS links that show hundreds more comments on boxing articles than any Alouettes game article... Calvillo's retirement is the only one I recall scoring high in that respect.

    Otherwise STFU :conf

Boxing is still mainstream news in QC sports media. Where else in North America would you see that?

    1. CFL, West Division final, Sunday, TSN: 1,900,000
    2. NHL, Sabres-Leafs/Rangers-Habs, Saturday, CBC: 1,888,000
    3. CFL, East Division final, Sunday, TSN: 1,700,000

No boxing top 20. CFL East division game was aired in Montreal and was the most popular/watched game during the time. Boxing didn't come close. Nowhere near it.

    STFU. :yep

Now show me these epic boxing ratings in which you speak of.

    don't agree with number 2

bums on the seat will come only because froch is fighting ward... so ward IS part of the reason... if froch fights you there will be less bums on seats

Fail. Those are national ratings. How do you break it down per province? You can't. Bute / Pascal / Stevenson gather more attention in QC than the Alouettes, that was my point. The ROC doesn't care about boxing, everyone knows and I never disputed that.

Besides, who in QC watches TSN?

You get me the RDS ratings for that East Division Final and I'll show you a La Presse article on how many people in QC actually watch boxing cards.

    :deal

Sorry, you can't even prove that.

You've shown 0 ratings. Your argument consists of comments on the articles. :patsch

Many CFL fans (Alouettes fans) post on the FAN ZONE forums, not the silly articles. :rofl

The CFL is the number one summer sports property on Canadian television, and overall, it garners higher ratings that any other sports property except hockey.

You're also comparing boxing to a completely garbage Alouettes (2013).

When Alouettes were at their strongest 4 years ago, the ratings were the highest they've ever been.

Even then, football is far more popular, even in Quebec.

Since when do so called "boxing fans" give two shits about drawing power ffs? GGG is a draw, but he's fighting nobodies and knocking out guys he's supposed to. Offense sells in a lot of sports, particularly in boxing. GGG fans make me laugh. They are quick to spew how nobody wants to fight him, but when Ward is mentioned then all of a sudden Ward should fight Kovalev or Stevenson, Ward should drop to 160 and everything else.

So you're telling me the CFL is second to hockey in QC but you can't prove it?

    Alrighty then.

    Apples to apples. Not oranges.

    Look at tvasports.ca...

    1. Hockey
    2. Boxing / UFC
    3. Soccer
    4. Football
    5. Tennis

On a hot Alouettes week, Football is usually the third tab; they base the order on # of views.

Look at 5 a 7 on RDS, they call in Russ Anber for Poing de Vue one month before a fight in QC, he's there through fight week and comes back twice after the fight (Mon/Tue). On Fridays and Mondays, Pierre Vercheval has a 5 min football column.

Are you serious? You're basing everything you have on TABS in a website. And it isn't a pure boxing tab, its a combat tab with UFC mixed in it.

And many of the articles have to do with GSP. :rofl who is now retired and not returning. You haven't shown me 1 number in this argument we're having.

Not only this, but the season has ended and isn't starting until June.

    Completely worthless rofl.

    Articles/tabs- :rofl

I've posted many numbers already. Highest rating- CFL, also taking up 2 spots of the top 3.

In the Eastern game, it was a huge hit in Toronto/Montreal as well. :thumbsup

I'll give you this. People are probably more excited for the Canadian boxing superfights than the weekly CFL Alouettes game. But if you think those fights will generate more ratings than the Eastern/Western games, CFL finals, Alouettes playoffs games, you're out of your fking mind.

Anyways, this is an insanely idiotic topic and I don't want to argue anymore about it.

If you want to continue, I'll be more than welcome but for time's sakes, we should just agree to disagree.
