Andy Devant Wanting 'Great Fight' With Cohoon; Predicting Explosive Encounter

Andy Devant talks to BritMMA.co.uk about his upcoming rematch with Leigh Cohoon, set for this Friday night at UCC 5! He is confident and predicting he'll beat the current Welterweight Champion by TKO or Knockout standing!

"It's going to finish quickly in my favour," asserted Andy. "I say it all the time though, you can never predict a fight. If I wanted to keep it standing, he might take me down, or I could try to keep it there, Leigh would get the upper hand on me and I'd want to take him down.

"As the fight goes along, I'm just going to go with with it, but my gameplan is to stand with him as much as I can, sprawl and brawl and when I think the time's right I will take him down. Hopefully, it's going to be a great fight.

"I wanted it to be a good fight last time as well, and I was a bit heartbroken that it finished so early, but it's just one of them things."

And for everyone who's wondered about Devant's record, he cleared it up...

"I've had five MMA fights and six Thai Boxing ones," revealed Andy. "In MMA, I've had two at Semi Pro. In one, I beat a lad called Greg Turley in Wales on that Grapple 'n' Strike by unanimous decision. I just took him down and beat him for two round. Then, I beat Ian Thomas, and he was a tough, tough kid in Stoke on Ross Pointon's show. I was fighting at Middleweight for them two fights.

"Then, I dropped down to Welterweight and fought Paul Hopkins for the Gladiator Promotions Title. I beat him with some vicious ground and pound. Then I fought Leigh for his title, but he beat me and then I fought Ant Davis and beat him by ground and pound as well."
