Andy Lee - Darren Barker - make it happen!

No i just see him around sometimes. I told him about the Lee beating him up in sparring and he genuinley laughed and said if anything its the other way round.

The Thiam fight was after the Barker euro title fight. No before. At that time Barker had to fight his mandatory which was Gevor and later became Macklin. Macklin is a bigger fight then Lee and Gevor was higher in the rankings than Lee.

 

pasting, i heard he got outboxedatsch hardly a pasting, so your telling me a credible opponent like lee or oral would have fought barker in england at 3 weeks notice, give it up slap.

now now, settle down. getting stopped on your feet after you had thrown the last punch after taking a few doesnt mean you have a bad chin or being destroyed.

getting wobbled by samuels doesnt mean barker has bad whiskers either, samuels can punch and comes to fight

On the day that the Belgacham fight was announced I contacted Andy to see what he thought about it because a. I knew he was after a European title fight and b. he had just beaten Belgacham.

Lee stated to me that he or his team was never contacted by anyone about making the fight, that he thought the fight was a joke and that he was available and would take the fight at short notice because he was in training anyway.

Its as simple as that, I understand you are a Barker fan but Barker (or his team) went out of his way to fight a weak opponent for a European title when a much better fight was available, it was a duck in my opinion.

I am sure he despite his dubious acquaintances that he is personally a decent guy, but that is one of the main reasons I dislike Barker, the other being that he left Macklin in the lurch at such a late stage for their European title fight when he knew it was potentially unlikely that he would not be fit and then came out in the press saying that those that were spreading "rumours" about his injury were wide of the mark and then the very next day he pulled out. That fúckin stinks and he was given a soft ride by British fans and the boxing trade press over it.

No evidence? Samuels had him down with a nice shot, don't blame it on balance. That is not the only time he has been down either.

Not only that but the Samuels bout should be marked down as a lose on Barkers card in my opinion.

Isnt it true that Lee had Vera down in that fight, isnt it true that Lee was ahead on all card at the time of the stoppage, isnt it true that Lee was never down in the fight, isnt it true that Lee was coming forward and punching at the time of the stoppage. See THEY are facts! You wouldnt know a fact if it crept up behind you and riddled yer arse with your mothers spare strap on!

It was a dubious stoppage though. I mean, if he had of stopped it any earlier, fair enough, but he stopped it just as Lee landed a BIG left hand.
