It wasn't ordered. Barker was put forward for the vacant title and the EBU being a bit ****/dodgy allowed him to fight anyone in the rankings for the title.

If you think Andy Lee or anyone other fighters managment wouldn't take up that opportunity your deluded.

    Its not a duck Slap.

Fair play to Lee if he gets Vera. Cannot see how thats a HBO fight. What card will it be on??

Barker vs Prozka unless Barker gets an eliminator.

Its in August on the east coast, it wont headliner but could lead to a world title fight, thats what HBO have told him.

You have the audacity to call other posters biased when you come out with **** like "Irish boxers are ****in ****, end of story!" You should be embarrassed and must realise that the **** you come out with makes you sound really ignorant.

Seriously, you need to have a word with yourself! I am just surprised that no British poster felt the need to pull you up on that, and sadly that is pretty revealing actually.

To say that "I am only speaking the truth and the truth hurts. As of right now there are no good irish fighters." is ignorant clap trap of the kind that drags down this forum. There are plenty of "good Irish fighters". Do Ireland have any elite world beaters at the moment? No, I don't think I ever said we did. We have some guys that could potentially win a world title but none that have the capability of dominating a division. That's boxing! We are a small country with limited resources and if we like it or not boxing is a minority sport in our country and one that the mainstream media tenders to ignore. We have world class amateurs and hopefully plenty of them will turn over after the Olympics and flourish.

I hope he fights Lee. Lee is looking to fight Vera to avenge his loss, maybe they don't want to upset the gravy train again.

won a silver a the world u-18s, he got beaten in the final by a cuban, same division as ronnie heffron who was also fighting in mexico .would have went to the olympics imo but decided to go pro , he didnt win an irish senior title but got stopped on cut in the semi-finals while being a good bit ahead of phil sutcliffe who went on to win them that year at 64kgs.
