Great news. It's good to see a fighter actively looking to avenge a loss the way Lee is with Vera.

Andy has done this right. Congratulations in advance- win or lose.

I know what us Irish fans expect, nonetheless!

Im going to heavily back lee for the win, maybe, deciding on odds, the KO

    A. He offered to fight Darren Barker for the EBU title but Barker decided to fight Belgacham, who Lee had just totally outclassed.

    B. Vera isnt a "nohoper". His defeats have largely been against unbeaten top prospects.

    C. Lee has a potential fight with Duddy coming up in March. That would be the biggest all-Irish pairing in my memory.

I think Vera might be on the downside..... 1-4 in his last five, one of those was a hiding from James Kirkland.

Still, he's still a bit of a name and it will be good for Lee to avenge his defeat.

Is Duddy still a valuable commodity?

I mean.... the Chavez loss does him no favours really, in the views of the Irish should the fight have happened before now?

It would have been cool if it had happened before, but it was never going to, both were valuable commodities, and if they fought you would just have ended up with 1 more valuable fighter. It would never be made, especially with them both under different management, similar in a way to Groves/DeGale.

It would have happened it one of them had a title, and it could have been a super event, or now that one of them (Duddy) is on the way out. Now it might make good sense, because Lee gets a career boost and Duddy gets another nice earner.

Vera is a good Lee fight too, he's still decent level and it means a lot more because he has the win over Lee.

Vera might be coming off some losses but they are all to unbeaten fighters. He also just sparkod Demers who was in the IBF top ten at the time.

As for Duddy being a valuable commodity. As far as the States is concerned, Duddy is the only name in Irish boxing.

Manny is in a state of delusion if he thinks Lee is the best upcoming prospect in the division. I remember Lee being considered a great talent before that loss to Vera, yet here we are and he's still likely to be facing another overmatched opponent. I know he had one loss but come on, he's been ridiculously molly coddled, like Darren Barker. His opponents have been shocking.

I wish he'd fight a Rubio or someone at least.
