Lee is a good boxer, but he has a very amateur style, leaky defence and can't fight insider. The middleweight division is pretty crap right now though, so he could definitely pick up a belt. He's always been a bit of a hype job though, being white and Irish helps.
I wouldn't say he was class, he beat a man who he was expected to beat and no more. He's so easy to hit that a blind man could slot him....his beat attribute is that he's teak tough but this won't help him when he eventually steps up.
I always enjoy watching Andy Lee. Throws beautiful, straight punches. Has scored quite a few memorable stoppages in his career like the ones against Carl Daniels and Craig McEwen. Vera was shipping bombs in practically every round the other night. Great stuff.
I don't disagree he should have won the first fight, but you're not giving Vera much credit. Winning a shut out against him is no walk in the park. It was the manner of the victory rather than the result people were impressed with.
I thought he looked like a typical Emmanuel Steward type fighter. No head movement just a busy jab and time the opponent coming in with the straights.
Lee is plodding, easy to hit, and not too fast, but he does have a solid dig and can take a beating it seems. Pirog Vs Lee would be great, with the winner a viable and marketable challenger for Martinez.
lee is a good boxer, has good power, his natural awkwardness and length can make him look a little uncoordinated, he will be dificult to beat, a good fight is with Barker, who i think he would OUTBOX.
