I didn’t see where Ruiz said he was a good boxer. Did I miss something? You may be correct. However plodding along and throwing combinations every now and then did make him a titleholder by knocking his opponent down 4 times.

 

Andy Ruiz Jr was hitting Joshua at will for the best part of 7 rounds, despite having short arms and less height.
Of course he's not going to pretend Joshua impresses him as a "good boxer". Why should he ? Joshua showed nothing to convince him off that.
A good puncher, yes, but not a good boxer.
Ruiz read Joshua's moves quite easily.

Ruiz is short and doesn't have high ring IQ. He would be in no position to do anything against a taller boxer that decides to jab him and play it relatively safe. Wilder would destroy Ruiz with ease. He would just need to sit back and jab until the time is right to launch the right hand and KO Ruiz.

"He just needs to keep his hunger for boxing" sounds like already making excuses for him in advance. Because we all know that Ruiz won't be holding those belts for long even if he defeats AJ again.
