the burns vs cook fight wasn't a disgrace in the sense that it was a **** poor fight for one of them, or both. cook had a serious injury. that's just the way the cooky (pardon the pun) crumbles. the **** that's been coming out of america for the last ten years - now that's a disgrace. their not even worthy of the bum label. it was a great fight to watch. something you guys don't have much of. just leave it to the puerto ricans, the europeans and the mexicans - there's a good boy. :good
Exposed how? Murray showed tonight exactly what we all knew about him. People only had him a favorite going in because most weren't convinced that Mitchell would be at his best. Not because he [Murray] was better. The only thing tonight exposed was the false belief that Mitchell is a distracted and damaged fighter from the Katsidis loss.
Cook was damaged goods. Getting smacked in the back would not have ended a fight for a healthy fighter. There is no way he didn't feel that throughout camp. That was stealing money from the public. There are as many good American fights as British, but in your country these meaningless fights are still a big deal. They still get coverage. That's not a bad thing from a fan's perspective, but I'm saying there are plenty of exciting, untelevised fights between American fighters held here.
I missed that PS English spelling bro. No Z. And basically you agree with my point then. He wasn't exposed because people saw him for what he is.
As an Australian I'm all for giving it to the poms. But they just keep producing quality boxers. Wankers
Great fight. Needs a re-match. Mitchell looked good and much cleaner work. I was up for Murray but hats off to Mitchell
i agree, cook shouldn't have been in the ring. he wasn't healthy. that's why he retired a couple of years ago - because of the bad back. the doctor told him it's never going to get better. if he can put up with the pain, then box if you want to. he tried to, but it wasn't happening. that's the last we'll see of cook. the reason they are a big deal over here is that we're passionate about boxing. we come out to support our fighters. wouldn't you like it to be that way in the states? and to call them "meaningless fights" is just ignorant... mitchell vs murray was one of the most anticipated fights in a long time. both lightweight contenders. bellew vs mckenzie was a rematch.. the first fight was so good, they had to do it again. bellew is an undefeated british and commonwealth champ. he's also a prospect. hardly meaningless. and the burns vs cook fight was a world championship fight. had cook of been fit, it would of been a good fight... but he wasn't. it happens like that sometimes.
True enough. What about Frankie Gavin who earned a split decision against midfielder Curtis Woodhouse?
I knew Mitchell would win clearly if he had his head screwed on. My only two problems were: - He was coming off a loss - He was relatively new at the weight But fair play to him, what a fight and result. :rasta
didn't see the fight can't judge, Curtis is a underrated fighter though, but he should win a clear decision against him. Gavin squares up when he attacks and footwork needs to be better
