It is entirely unfair to call Cotto a quitter! Will-power & determination is what helped keep him in the fight as long as he was. He had NO LEGS! He left everything he had in the ring and has nothing to be ashamed of. Most fighters do not walk through Cotto's combos like they were love taps. Margo is a freak of nature and a bad style match-up for Cotto.
Cotto took a knee. That's a smart thing for a hurt fighter to do when trying to buy some time. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time left in the world for Cotto to make it through that round. the referee and the corner stopped the fight after the second knee. Cotto was hurt - but he did not quit. he put up a valiant fight.
Cotto didn't give up. I think he would have gotten up and took the KO. His corner is who stopped the fight. That is what they are paid to do, protect the fighter when the fighter isn't/can't do it themself.
honestly im not that big of a fan of Cotto but i give all the respect when a man decides that the fight is over and quits respectfully. Cotto deserves praise for this. it reminds me of Pacquiao/Morales 3 when Eric sat on the canvas and took the count to end the fight. it takes alot for a man with pride to admit defeat and do something like that after putting their best effort.

You're ****ing stupid. Did you see his face? Cotto fought with a busted up nose, face, and split eye for the last 5 rounds and didn't quit. He was also hurt in the 6th round and kept fighting. Cotto was beaten down and had nothing left. Just because he didn't go down 20 times like Corrales use to, or spit out his mouthpiece doesn't mean he quit. His ****ing corner stopped the fight anyways, which was the right thing to do.
