Yeah, I heard that for a long time. Remember the waves you guys promised Audley Harrison will make?

The thread starter is ignorant, I'm not. I just listed the British and American boxers, the truth is ignorance?

I will point out that, I beleive british fans tend to be one of the more nationalistic groups of boxing fans. Not that their is much wrong with that, The British are a proud people who have accomplished alot, but I rarely see any other nationality put so much spin and bull**** into their posts. Im not refering to the majority here guys, just the REALLY annoying minority.

You know, like whenever a fight with a british guy goes down, the drunk ******* who posts "told ya yanks, we has got the tough boys up here"

Seriously guys, the revolutionary war happend along time ago. some british people seem to have some kind of grudge/inferiorty complex when it comes to americans, and honestly, its ****ing stupid.

Again not speaking for every british fan here

:D maybe we are so alike we dont even see it , I would have said american fans tend to be more nationalistic , as almost every british fight fan has favourite who are from the US or Mexico or wherever, where as it seems A travelling british fighter donest pick up a lot of support in the US.

I reckon Hattons fans might be swaying that perception ,but he was a phenomenon fans wise, that I dont think we'll see again.

and **** it was you that mentioned the revolution

To be honest I was never on here when A Farce was news. I didn't think he was ever all that popular amongst British fans anyway, I mean he used to get booed at events he was headlining. But even if he was touted as the second coming that shouldn't blind you to the obvious talent some British fighters have right now.

To be honest I think its a mix of assholes and frank warren. Frank warren likes to protect his prospects and overhype them as the next coming. And alot of times when they step up... They get ****ed up because of the incredible step up of level after feasting on low level fights and being called the next big thing. Because of the hype, it just looks alot worse then it really is. Alot of times, the warren hype will get to the fighters head, and he will start calling himself champion ect while fighting for wbo interim belts ect....

You tend to see less of this in America, but it still happens... like with salita LOL

I would say America is one of the most patriotic nations on the face of the eart. However, even more so than this, it is one of the most ignorant. "Khan? Who's he? Where's he from? England? Is that in Texas? Oh it's in that place called Europe? Oh right they can't fight over there. How do I know? Well it's not the States is it? I don't need to actually see the guy fight. Salita KO1". This is fairly typical of the rubbish that comes out of some morons on this board. Yet when their guy loses "he was never any good anyway. The king is dead long live the new king".

The posters who were saying salita ko1 were trolls attempting to get under your skin. And congratulations, they got you

Listen to yourself, the sweeping generalization by many countries that americans are ignorant.... is just as bad as the sweeping generalizations that americans make about other countries

Europeans tend to think of their country as being important on the world stage. Sorry to break it to you guys but, USA,CHINA and RUSSIA are the only powerful single country nations that everyone knows about.

Europe is more like the United states (especially the EU), european countries are set up like american states along a large continent. So asking an american what the capitol of lets say bulgaria is and its location, is akin to asking a bulgarian the capitol of idaho and its location. So people get easily offended when americans dont know their countries capitol or location, because they are so ****ing full of themselves and beleive they are so important in the world, when they are not to be honest.

so next time ask your average mancunian what the capitol of ohio is and and its location. And its akin to asking the average american were latvia is and its capitol.

Not ignorance, more like not giving a **** because you dont think its important.

I'd say its apathy more than ignorance. American fans don't even know much of their American fighters. As a matter of fact, while there is alot of patriotism here, you'll find alot of fans here root for other guys. Rooting interest here is more regional than national....like in NY, you'll find alot of Paul Malignaggi or Zab Judah fans. Oakland/SF, it'll be Andre Ward. Or in many instances more ethnically aligned...many people just root for their own...nothing wrong with it . Of course, you'll have your nationally popular guys, like Mayweather, Pavlik or De LA Hoya. But it take a long time for guys to catch on...... Andre Ward is still unknown to non boxing fans and even a Chad Dawson doesnt have a fan base in proportion with his status. I havent seen much on ESB about Salita, but I'm sure there was a few guys spouting off. I can tell you this, there was no buzz about that fight here...not even in NY. Much different in the UK, am I correct?

Now Ahmir is British/European? Isn't this the same guy who complained that his countrymen show him no love? Now you guys are riding his sack hard? He trains in the States! Hahaha. He came to where you go to become a REAL fighter, hahaha.

As far as Salita goes, I don't know ANYONE in my boxing circle that was hyped on him. I like Kahn though I am not an avid fan.

Yeah and not having boxing shown on any "free" nationally televised stations doesn't help either. Basically for an American to "know" boxing he has to shell out close to $100 bucks per month (cable, HBO, Showtime). I am not sure how it is in other countries, but as far as I know Sky shows the fights free.

That keeps most of the young Americans "ignorant" of a fighter until he breaks through to the mainstream media.
