Anyone else cringe at the way he does his announcements - totally over the top and takes things too far with his "champion of the woooooooooooooooooooooooooooorld". Even when he does the Darts the guy just takes things far too far and makes himself look like an amateur.
I think he's quite professional. Ok he's not in the buffman or jimmy's league but who is? Take him over Burdis anyday of the week. Each to their own.
TBH he's been around for years and been class and pretty much steady. Recently he seems to be trying a tad to hard. It could be he's been asked to bring a little more razzle and dazzle to his announcing and he's trying and failing. He seems a really good guy from what i've seen of him and like others he's a boxing man and loves the sport. I think he's good but recently he's been poor i must admit a few slip ups and a few moments.
John is by far the best in the business and a gentleman who's raised thousands for various charities.

He's probably the best in the UK- the guys on Boxnation aren't much cop and Channel 5's announcer isn't the best.
