Anthony Bellew v David Deron Haye - 17th December

I have a feeling the body is going to go again, not necessarily Achilles but a shoulder or something...

 

Yet it is still an easy win for Haye if he stays fit. Jeez even an injured Haye who could barely walk into the ring was miles ahead on the cards before his achilles finally snapped.

And as for all these saying it was Bellews plan to take him late so therefore the first 5 rounds don't count......REALITY CHECK......Bellew was gassing worse than Haye in the second half of the fight.

Only one thing worse than a deluded Fury fan, that is a deluded Bellew fan. Bellew isn't fit to lick Hayes boots. He will get destroyed if Haye is fit.

 

I think Haye will have to take it easy in preparation for this fight as Father Time seems to be kicking in and unfortunately seems very injury prone. but at the same time he will need to come in light in able to catch bellew. There were plenty of times in the first fight where he was a whisker away from landing.

Also I think they need to bring in some sort of rule in when a fighter goes into a fight knowing full well they are injured when they shouldn't be, I understand they would lose getting paid but something needs to be done in that area.

 

He's not having a warmup because he knows his body is shot to bits and he'd get injured again and then this final payday would go up in smoke. So long as he crawls into the ring somehow for the Bellew one he'll be happy. Then he'll get injured again and lose. I just don't see him beating Bellew, as tragic as it is. The Haye that beat Chisora would demolish Bellew inside a round.

 

That Haye is gone for god sake he is not coming back,that was his peak as a heavyweight,that was when he was a force,why do you think Bellew wants to face him now,because he is old,inactive,and injury prone.Its simple from dave coldwell,take Haye to the later rounds and he wont make it.This is Entertainment not really two quality boxers if you think about it.Tbh,i prefer this over Bellew Parker or Whyte Wilder because it will be good fun.I would point out,watch the quality between these two,it's dire,they are both past their peak but still get a juicy pay,nearly at minimum,both will get 3million.

Yeah the last bit espically,we should stop making comparisons of the past as it's easy to do so.The current haye is,i agree with you,that will not care even if he is putting his body in danger,as long as he can last a round.

 

Come on mate, i’m a boxing fan, please don’t do that thing were you pigeon hole me into ‘Bellew’ or ‘Fury’ or ‘whoever’ fan. I try to be objective.

Bellew clearly stated that he felt that Haye would quit or his body would fail when he took him to deeper waters. His strategy was to give away the early rounds, avoid getting knocked out and tire Haye out. Hence he was winning on the cards.

The fact remains, Haye is physically shot to pieces in terms of going 12 rounds in a fight or even doing a full training camp without getting injured. I’m not making that up, the evidence is unfortunately there.

 

Haye's not interested in building a great final legacy to his career hence no warm up fights, he is in it to steal a living when his bodies not strong enough to withstand the demands of a long training camp and 12 hard championship rounds.

 

Tell you what, mate, I’m going to be all over them odds at the bookies. 7/2 for a Bellew KO/TKO win or 2/1 for a win outright.

 

Is that the odds ? If so it's steal. Only worry for me is will Vellew be 100% focused away from home during camp as he seen his wife ex brother died and he seems to be struggling with it. Great value bet, do people never learn m8 !

 

Haye and Shane McG parred ways cos Shane felt he should retire. It’ll be interesting to see what Haye’s time with Salas brings now. I imagine he’d fight Parker next if he wins.

 

Heard haye asked for a trilogy fight written in the contract if he wins the second one. Pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the intentions behind the comeback.

Needs to give it up. Should never be on ppv after the injuries hes had.

 

I heard about his brother in law, by the sounds of it they were close. I wondered about his focus too but he said that he’s going to dedicate the fight in December to him. He strikes me as the kind of person who will use it to drive him.

I’m shocked at the bookies, they’re normally bang on it. Has @Blah says above, Shane McGuigan knows that Haye is done. Personally, I think he was done years ago with the shoulder reconstruction. I don’t begrudge the man squeezing one last big pay day out the sport though and i’ll be buying the PPV.
