No I said it was 50/50 and that this is a very poor division. And look, I'm not the one claiming this fight proved he had good defense. That was you.

Canelo is the fight I hope to see. Would be deflating to see Smith or Yarde stop him before we see that fight. I favor Canelo, but think it would be an awesome fight and a great payday for David. Hope he gets that before he gets stopped, he deserves it.

Idk, Plant usually tires around rd 6-7 whereas Canelo can go an extra 2 or so rounds before hes ****ed

Oh no, a fighter deploys defense when getting his face rearranged by a bigger better fighter.... the horror! Internet couch man says the professional world class fighter is a *****, it must be true

Would love to see your top 10 favorite fighters.

I hope Canelo opts to fight Benavidez later this year instead of Bivol. Could be a fun fight with a slight potential for an upset. Canelo faded bad in the back half of his fights against Bivol and Golovkin, and tonight Benavidez seemed to really put the pressure on from round 6 and on. Granted, this is the only time I've seen Benavidez fight, but from what all I've heard it seems like this is a pretty common thing for him. Until I see more of Benavidez and how Canelo fairs in his next fight, I'd still lean toward Canelo winning in a potential match up, but it going the other way wouldn't surprise me too much as of now.

And besides, I really don't think Canelo can beat Bivol. Their first outing wasn't even close, unless you were paid to think so. It's one of those fights that really doesn't need to be rerun, sometimes there's just a better guy and Bivol is that guy for Canelo. Although yes I probably would tune in despite my distaste for unnecessary rematches. Can never get enough of Bivol giving a good old fashioned schooling.

I was referring more to his tendency to be all kisses and hugs even DURING fights (fishing for compliments from Canelo  ) and especially afterward with a "hated rival he'll never forgive" but if you think he displayed any defense at all once he started taking flush shots to the face maybe you should pop a squat by the couch and learn a thing or two.

If you don't think clinching is a defensive tactic, then I don't know what to tell you.

Who are some of your favorite fighters?

And if you think "clinching" is "grabbing one arm while Benavidez pounds away at you with his free hand" then goodness gracious brother.

So what part of the fight was Benavidez in trouble? Never. He played Plant like a fiddle and everyone who picked him or thought it would be close.

It's a defensive tactic that is also illegal. Why do you think people gave Wladimir Klitchsko and Bernard Hopkins so much **** during their heydays?
