Many a fight over the years has made more money than undisputed

I'd even say Eubank Benn 1 made more actual profit than Uysk Fury

You are seriously under estimating how the entire UK will watch this fight
Add that to worldwide numbers it's not even gonna be close

Fury v Joshua even though it did not happen years ago when it really mattered it is still today the biggest fight Britain will have ever seen and certainly worthy of its moniker the Battle of Britain. However the theatrics aside after the call out after the Makmudhov fight both Hearn and Warren know this fight still sells itself but both will want to build this fight up to its maximum and ring every penny out of it. Firstly Joshua needs time to recover from his ordeal and the loss of his two friends as well as the fact I can’t see this fight happening till early 2027 so this gives Joshua the chance to have two build up fights and allows Fury one more build up fight before they face each other. This I think is the best way for the fight to happen and build it up to the maximum which both Hearn and Warren surely want . Neck on the line I still think even though neither are Champions now,this fight would could still well be the biggest fight out there in terms of the financial revenue involved .

 

Promoters trying to build these fights is part of the problem and why these always come too late. They've missed the boat on this one in my view

 

I don't doubt that the UK would tune in. They're not the only country that watches boxing though, and up until Usyk came along Undisputed HW fights were exceedingly rare.

I guess we'll see, they have to actually fight first and this isn't the first time the fight has been "all but signed"

 

Exactly, add the worldwide viewing to that of the Uk alone plus it'll probably be at Wembly

Name a heavyweight fight that got more interest and generated more views than Usyk v Fury 1 though. After a quick search I couldn't find one, let alone one between two past it heavyweights without a title on the line. I think you're undervaluing HW undisputed fights a bit here.

I don't need to name a fight on previous years as I'm talking about a potential future fight but if your going by internet hearsay Mike Tyson VS Pete Mcneely did more PPV buys

The fight isn't about sporting accolades, it's an event

It will surpass any Uysk Fury fight financially
Gate wise, Viewing wise (I would say PPV but it's deemed to be on Netflix)

If it happens it smashes records here and add the world viewing figures to that it'll still be huge, like ridiculous huge

I fully agree the Fury v Joshua fight is well passed its peak and certainly missed the boat,however this is still a massive fight and both there promoters as well as the fighters know how much this fight will generate.,this fight imo is still a huge global affair. Hell even Joshua v Wilder which is also in the same predicament as Joshua v Fury in regards to never happening when it mattered,that fight there would also be massive and also still be a huge revenue maker .

 

That's a fight that happened 31 years ago. I was after a more recent example, as there have been plenty of major boxing events in the UK recently with none of them surpassing Fury v Usyk for undisputed in Saudi. The source I used was https://boxing-social.com/news/tyson-fury-oleksandr-usyk-reported-ppv-buys (so could be wrong, but it was the best I could find at short notice).

Now I don't doubt that Fury v AJ whenever it happens would be wildly successful (but lets be real, a lot of the intrigue for that fight has long faded), I just don't think it would beat Usyks final fight. He hasn't been defeated, is the greatest of this generation and is the man who beat the man.

Maybe I'm wrong, but all I can offer is my opinion on it.
