Ruiz should only get a 3rd fight if he's earned it. I fail to see why a KO is needed here. Joshua won in an absolute shut down in the 2nd fight. He may have won every single round. If he'd stayed behind his jab in the first fight he'd have won easily.
But he didn’t and was beating in embarrassing fashion. I personally wouldn’t want to see a 3rd fight, but I can see why people think it’s fair. Regardless how you spin it - it’s 1-1.
Let's also not conveniently forget that Andy Ruiz Jr's training camp for the rematch consisted solely of gorging on burgers, fries and fried chicken. He did zero boxing training as he admitted himself, shamefully. The only ring he should have been near is a gastric band around his gut. So that puts a rather tainted spin on Joshua's 'masterclass' performance.
It wouldn't matter if Angelo Dundee and Emmanuel Steward came back from the dead to train Joshua. He'd still get his ass kicked by Usyk. Usyk is the far better fighter, whatever Joshua does it'll never be good enough.
Got rid of the "Brilliant AJ" cornerman only to replace him with a guy who told him he was winning every round.
Wonder if Aj is gonna go on another full year, round the world trip trying out the worlds best trainers, asking everyone for on advice on how to beat the elite.. only to lose to the elite again..
Forgot about him whoring himself out in the US, Jesus he really is a tit. Ended up with Garcia, who'd never trained a heavyweight before, and threw him under the bus the very next day to save face.
Didn't throw him under the bus in fairness , it was a mis translation from Spanish and the original reporter has retracted and corrected it since.
Every live contender will do the same - no chin, no stamina, no heart, mediocre power and boxing IQ of a baby ant
I think Frank Warren summed it up perfectly when he said Ruiz trained for the second fight in his larder
You may very well be correct but even with all his shortcomings he still is top 5. Shows how poor this division is.
