He has already reached the top of the Amateur ranks, now is the time for Altered Beast to turn professional.

Exactly what I was thinking; I was pretty sure that Joshua would fight in the worlds then turn pro under Matchroom and McCracken. He'd've been with the hottest promoter, on the biggest TV platform with a first class trainer who he's worked with before.

Lennox, Booth, Golden Boy and Boxnation are all big names but Lennox has never managed before, can Joshua fight in the Booth style and Golden Boy are unproven in the UK. Joshua needs to build on his Olympic momentum by fighting regularly at home first IMO.

I thought he knocked turning pro originally as he wanted to fight in WSB?

It'd be a shame to see him go and fight in the states.

Isnt Joshua about 6'6 with huge reach, how can he fight like Haye and Groves.

    Booth made Aydin worse.

Just read the article. Not sure Booth is the best trainer for Joshua, unproven with someone like that, had Price of course but not for long enough to make judgment. And Lewis as manager? wtf

  6. Good article in the telegraph on this

Says he has not signed with anyone and has had big offers from eddie, frank and golden boy

Worse? He had 1 fight with a 10 week training camp & Aydin can't speak English nor Booth Turkish.... But I agree he couldn't fight in the Booth style.

The amatuer side is so different from the proffessional side now that they may as well be considered two different sports.

He has reached the pinnacle of the amatuer side, albeit with a bit of luck along the way that leaves room for doubt, but it is time for him to become a proffessional. The best thing he can do is have 5 fights in America away from the spotlight in the UK and then come back home.

At least in Audley he has the perfect example of how NOT to do things.

Lennox is not a bad idea at all, but maybe not as his first trainer. Maybe his Cornerman/Advisor?

Exactly how I see it. He'd be better off with McCracken who wouldn't try make him something he's not, he would all ready know all about his strengths and weaknesses from the time he spent in the GB squad. Matchroom should be the obvious choice for Joshua, it's exactly what he needs. He'd get the full hype machine behind him and you can almost guarantee that Eddie would have him out on almost every card he can, give him a chance to develop and improve in a short enough time frame.

Booth is bloody shocking. I don't care what anyone says about Haye's titles nor how Groves is looking at the mo'.

Eddie has said numerous times he wants a good heavy for his stable. Perfect match imo.
