Anthony Joshua - Super-Heavyweight amateur prospect

I took notice of Joshua after this article by Colin Hart:

Physically he is fantastic - 6ft 6in tall, very fast hands, powerful puncher etc. Seems to have a good head on him as well, so lets hope he stays in the amateurs for at least another couple of years to work on his defence and other aspects to his game. But from what I have seen, the future looks very promising for the lad considering he has only 18 amateur fights so far.

 

I am sure that Spencer Oliver will point him in the right direction...:yep

He does not want to come on the scene and just be another Super Heavyweight, his timing needs be right, there are a number of Novice Pro's in the mix at the moment, this lad has loads of time...:yep

Didn't Del Boy fight out of Finchley as an Amateur...:think

Hopefully the lad makes it to 2012 and does well.

 

Could be just what the heavyweight division needs no rush though being only 20 would definitely like to see him make the 2012 Olympics and get more amateur experience under his belt but he looks to have all the attributes and the right attitude

i went to a show my mate was fighting on in oxford not long ago an i got to see josua fight, the bloke he was fighting was short an stocky an was throwing these massive left hooks from a mile away, josua caught his man an well the other bloke was sparko rollin around the ring. i was impressed although i thought josua looked a bit basic?

 

whoops ive just noticed the youtube video at the top is the same fight i attended in oxford.

 

Looks like an absolute beast, hopefully he stays focused and we could have a massive star on our hands.
