Nonsense. Joshua is a fake in and out of the ring yet some suckers still don't see it!!! Every win was in very low risk fights against either a small man, old man or a non puncher in the most padded CV ever seen. Not one win against any elite or great fighter under 40 years of age. Open your eyes FFS and stop listening to scammer Hearn.
Of course Povetkin was a great fighter. Not an ATG but definitely a great fighter. He was still performing at a high level in his 40s. Drew with top 10 Hunter. KO'd top 5 Whyte. One is a fluke, but that is two solid results in his 40s. His problem was he ran into a prime ATG Klitschko and had to work his way back into contention. ATG HOF Elite Great edit: Btw, calling Povetkin fringe world level is pretty daft. Klitschko v Povetkin was literally #1 v #2 (and in the eyes of some started Klitschko's lineage which Fury won from him).
Povetkin's legacy is a drugs cheat and a man that went life and death with Marco Huck, a cruiserweight. Klitschko at the end of his career aged 37 battered him all over Moscow in his easiest title defence since David Toe Haye. A great fighter would have done what DDD done to Journeyman Joshua last Saturday. Anyone who thinks Dillian Whyte is anything above British Level should have a look at his World Title Fight with Fury at Wembley.
The difference is the Brits who never listened to Hearn for years and years on the British Forum knew how average Journeyman Joshua was long before his fights with Usyk. Even Stevie Wonder could see it.
You have just undermined arguably Klitschko's best win. The other wins being "David Toe Haye" and Chagaev who was inactive, injury prone, and coming off a bout of sickness. In which case, both Fury and Joshua must be pretty naff too as their careers are built off the back of beating an even older Klitschko. In which case Usyk can't be up to much either. Basically, it sounds like you are saying heavyweight boxing isn't like it used to be back in your day. How depressing
Drugs cheat Povetkin was fighting an old man at 37, well into his decline at the end of his career and found to be mediocre at best.
Here's the thing a lot of blinded fanboys aren't realizing: Joshua has NEVER taken out an elite fighter early. Add in the fact that he's never stopped an elite, prime fighter with the skillset of Luis Ortiz period, and there's a lot to consider in this hypo. You could count on Joshua getting outboxed. You could count on Joshua getting cracked with the left hand. Power is similar for both fighters Ortiz is a better boxer, far more technically sound Both fighters seem to have poor stamina and mediocre chins The caveat to all this is that Ortiz needs to win by KO as a Cuban is never getting a decision over a protected fighter. As someone else mentioned, the fight didn't happen and definitely could have which tells you about all you need to know. I voted Ortiz.
Someone needs to point out Joshua's elite traits that I am missing here - thunderous power, heart, stamina, iron chin, champion mindset? May have to watch netball if this man is used in the same sentence as great. This content is protected
